THE KAVERIAN'S LEGS

Thought it might interest some out there but my gaming had included the title FarCry 3.

This plays rather well on the AMD A10 7850K and at 1080p I only had to drop a couple of settings to medium. I always go for the settings that I think I would notice the least, sometimes I wonder if I would at all?!

Sometimes I do wonder about some of these settings and sometimes I think it's features within the graphics chips themselves rather than anti aliasing being at ever higher rates?

For instance I do not know if games I am playing all using all the features built into the graphics chip integrated into the APU? Yes you can talk about how much faster and higher clocked the fastest graphics chips are but new features within chips, can't remember the damn terms, often take awhile before games coders ... code for them and the game are on the shelves. Maybe they are and maybe the aren't it is these kinds of little details I have lost track of over the last dozen years!

Still this is only me pondering as at the end of the day, or rather August or September, I will add a graphics card to the mix which will likely be a Radeon R9-280? There are rumours of new cards and they are a little overdue this time around? A couple of R9 cards are talked about on the Internet one being the 265 and one the 285. Odd naming of these cards and I expected the first number in the model names of 200 series to be upped to 300 series? I guess not? So the prices should come down and even more so if nVidia release their new graphics chips?

This is partly because I hate sodding around with games settings but mainly because by the time the prices are adjusted the two games I am most ever about week be either out or not far off being released?

These are Star Citizen/Arena Commander, though I think these names will change Lol, and Elite Dangerous. Cannot be long before we start getting the next generation graphics in everything else? Oh yes and there is FarCry 4!

Which has remixed me that I have wandered off the fact I started this about FarCry 3!

I am loving the game though there are some niggles. Oddly the part where I was knocked out by the butt of a rifle was also complained about by a pc magazine, think it was PC Gamer? Also the map could be easier to read or road signs like in Elder Scrolls. The other thing is the way it saves games. My word, sometimes I feel like I can't leave the game for fear of being set back several miles?! Lol!

The world is fantastic, though I think it's a bit gory for kids in paces, and the variety of animals rivals or surpasses that of Elder Scrolls V Skyrim's! There behaviour and movement is also impressive and being someone who spent a life around animals from all over the world I am bout easily impressed.

After the joyous return to gaming that I have had with the two main Bethesda titles, Elder Scrolls and Fallout, and now FarCry I am positively dribbling at the prospect of bigger worlds to roam around in and a greater variety of animals too?! Oh boy!

Also I think that vehicles in games normally let things down and ... well really should have a steering wheel option to use but in this edition of Farcry, I did play the first title ... possibly the second too, they are actually fun to use and useful.

I do find it funny that hang-gliders are lying around on every mountain top for you to use. Some things are clever though like the need to climb the towers to the radio transmitters to turn them on. Also the towers sway in the wind which is a great touch and some of them are in very bad shape. Often you have to do some jumping and grabbing to climb up and if you don't have a head for heights, like me, it makes you feel a bit ... queasy and edgy, lol!

I also seem to be finding new animals every now and then and I also love the fact that when your in the sea the water actually swells. It almost feels like your on a tropical island and admittedly salt the closest I have come to that! Lol, of you discount southern Italy that is?

Looking forward to the next wave of games starting with FarCry 4!

DISHONOURED ON KAVERI

Well it's gone slow again on here and YouTube, sorry about that.

Once again it's down to corporate greed I am afraid. Basically I was using two phones because Vodafone was shite. I have been putting off unlocking my Moto G and placing my Three sim inside it.

However very recently I was hobbling home when I suddenly found myself is a bloody horrendous storm. I had a military style rucksack and an umbrella. Did not help.

Cut a long story short and both phones for wet. The one I use for the tethered Internet connection got very wet. Inside acres was soaked as was the entire battery, or in other words remixing it had the inside of the battery covered in water. Tried to dry off and only got screen with white noise, thought it was dead for good?! Left it under a small spot light so it got very hot for several hours. Left it overnight and blow me down it worked the next day!!

Only it does not work fur very long and loses a charge very quick and is difficult to get to charge! So until I can unlock my Moto G, which I can't do to next week as I transferred last of my cash to my daughters account, due to her in a big court battle, can't do that for a few days.

Also I managed to get a copy of Dishonoured Game Of The Year Edition and on the current over clock it runs smooth as butter. I have not run Crysis 3 since I realised something reset the overclocking but currently nothing I play slows it down.

Oddly one game I am waiting to be released will likely need a lot mitre graphics power to run. This was due to the fact that they stated that they could bit release the game fur even the latest generation consoles, PlayStation 4 and XBox One?! Did not expect to ever read something like that and make me want to run it and buy a Radeon R9-290 but then the game won't officially be released until early 2015. So would be stupid to buy that card right now.

The game I am speaking of is Chris Roberts' Star Citizen.

There is of course the other source sim of Elite Dangerous by David Braben which is estimated to be released in a couple of months time? Not sure what the predicted graphics requirements will be for that one.

I literally cannot think of anything else I want to purchase that week need greater power. Oooh that reminds my Fibrofogged brain that I also have not run Thief since I upped the GPU and RAM frequencies! Also I am sure I could up the GPU clock further and it is on 847Mhz currently, I think I stopped at? This was only to cure the speed issues with Fallout 3. Remember I run everything at 1080 currently.

During next week I wool have another rummage through titles and see if their is anything I might be tenured to order? I must admit them Bioshock Infinite never really appealed to me but the fact it is highly spoken of I might be tempted to take a look.

I have also been lax because of my daughter's court case, heat and humidity along with dreadfully heavy and close air pressure giving my dreadful headaches, not to mention my hunt for yet another GP, has held back many things I wanted to do or acquire.

I still need to get a large capacity, 1TB or more, Western Digital hard drive, blu-ray writer and gaming headset ..., think that is it, before I plum for the BT Affinity internet connection.

Of course there is still the conundrum of the graphics card!

I had intended to get the R7-250 but out if due to the difference in processor count, which I do find stupid if I am honest. Also after reading about Star Citizen and the fact consoles are not powerful enough then the recommended dual graphics route will bit be enough! I would be seriously pissed about this has I bought the dual graphics card! Anyone that has seen my reasons to corrupt public services or retail outlets on my corruption blog would know this is not the wisest thing to do.

I have also been in ... correspondence with two news media groups over my blogs and possibly a third? So the scraping by to acquire thugs due my other ... blogs may well be a thing of the past in a few months time?!

Fingers crossed!

I had a few frustrations with it but I am enjoying the Dishonoured game right now! It does remind me a lot of Thief, noooo Thief came it first and the latest one is the FOURTH title, but it dies not have the large open world, read sandboxed, I thought it would. Quite the opposite in fact and I suspect the world as actually quite small?

This is likely because like the other two titles I love it is published by Bethesda Softworks, Fallout and Elder Scrolls. I just assumed it would have a large open world like those two?

Also is bloody hard, that is in reflect of you get killed fairly often at times just trying to get a few dozen yards! Lol!

Still I have gotten used to the style of play and that's not so much of an issue now.

THE STUTTER WRAP

Well I should give all those a little warning that I have noted a few things regarding my A10-7850K PC set up I feel could help others ...

First off I now have Catalyst Control Drivers 14.7, I think they were ... YUP. When I downloaded this I noticed a large performance hit in Fallout 3, nice going AMD!!

I only downloaded and installed this because the previous driver failed and yet Fallout 3 was playing fine?! Windows thre up a message that the driver was not working and the Catalyst Control Centre failed to run with the same message of the driver not working?! Nice going AMD!!!

Lastly I have noticed a major stuttering issue in Fallout 3 and it made the stuttering I experienced in Elder Scrolls Skyrim while playing on my Radeon HD5450M laptop look likes child's play?! After going straight for the obvious I then decided to turn off some AMD software I had recently turned on and this was Gesture Control and hey presto! It worked! Then I started to get some more stuttering and headed straight for more of AMD's software and lo and behold turning off Hydro in the Catalyst Control Centre also cured the stuttering completely!

NICE GOING AMD!!

Now I just need to prevent AMD's Gesture Control to not fire up on start up! NICE ...

Ooh you get the idea!

EDIT: I should also add that I can confirm a suspicion that AMD's Gesture Control turns itself back on in game after you have turned it off?! Just wait for the stuttering to be sure.

I have to admit to this being one of those things where you do just end up scratching your head over these big companies! How in the world do you end up releasing software like that which refuses to stay off and then interferes with your MAIN DRIVER when it is on?!

The mind truly does boggle at figuring out how some minds work! LOL!

Now after being interested in having this software on my system I now have to uninstall it! That is until they start to realise they just cannot keep releasing crap willy-nilly!

PROJECT ZERO - SATA REMEMBERING DUE TO FIBROFOG

Remembering things for me is sometimes a problem due to a condition that I suffer from.

I have had this for way over fifteen years and been asking about it for over 13. I found out what this was and even though the NHS have conveniently not 'discovered' it in all this time now that I did they still refuse to give me drugs and treatment for it.

This is called Fibromylagia and it causes a dozen or more areas of pain along with dozens of other things, one is Fibrofog, where I have trouble remembering things.

Now I called this file 'SATA REMEMBERING' as I was having difficulty remembering ... SOMETHING, lol.

Anyway this really hit home that the memory thing was a problem because it was over things I thought I would never forget.

The loss is not permanent it just cant be recollected often why you need it most. You just see fog as you try to remember hence the term 'fibrofog'.

The number one drugs for dealing with the condition that actually deals with the source of the problem is Sodium oxybate which one GP with delusions of grandeur and oinly interested in his own ego and one specialist in Fibromyalgia in Guy's Hospital's Rheumatology department had never heard of the drug. Despite it being given out for Narcolepsy and in the NHS site for lsyed prescription drugs.

A second tier drug for it is Pregabalin which they lied and cheated me out of so therefore not only do I have a condition I have one that they lie about, that I had to diagnose and that they are refusing second rate drugs for!

So a condition without the proper drugs in other words, just so we are clear for anyone thinking of leaving smart comments, lmao.

Before anyone states anything about mad claims either then I suggest you listen to all I stated by their own admission as I recorded every appointment, meeting and test for the last three years!

http://asaintcalledallnights.blogspot.co.uk

People do not think before they leave comments, they do no consider they might be wrong, do not have enough information and even worse for them whether they end up looking like dick-wads at the end of it and that this will remain on there?!

God, people are so naive and narrow minded and yet so many have high opinions of their own intelligence and wisdom that strays way beyond reality! LMFAO!

PROJECT ZERO KAVERI ONTO MOTHERBOARD

Just a show of how easy it is to pout the APU in its socket.

This is an AMD A10-7850K Kaveri APU going into an MSI A88XM Gaming Series Motherboard.

Think I forgot to mention that no Windows H8 for this me laddo! Nope Windows 7 Professional and it runs as smooth as a baby's bottom!

THE SWEET SAILING CORSAIR CHASSIS

Here is the one part ... the only part of a rig that gives me a bloody headache!

Sorry but I find that 90% of cases are butt ugly even the ones that Custom PC Magazine or others give scores for, pissed or goodies no doubt.

I saw this case used in a Kaveri build in PC PRO I think it was and despite many reviewers still not cottoning on to how good the Kaveri is energy, innovation and power wise I like the look of the case with the fans on.

Oddly I had seen the case previously and thought, hang on I have seen that case in Maplins? It was simply OK on the shelf but the budget group test one which I think was actually called the Kaverian and by Dino PC I believe looked swish.

There are other swish cases but would cost in excess of £100 and one was £150 and another £100 more still.

You do get some nice cases but they are just a case at the end of the day and costing more than your main CPU/APU is stupid. Also overclokcing is a bit yesterday in all honesty and I think it will lose it pizazz. It has with me and many I attended university with will not believe I said that. Especially as we all use to pile around to see this new unit that sat at the base of you case that was in essence a fridge! Lol. I wanted one!

In case you missed it I will dual graphics up this rig. This should get Crysis 3 running in 1080p with only a few settings turned down, after all its doing it now in 1080p low to medium but not quite playable, lol.

Once the Mantle, hUMA and the like are all included in coding, which they will of course and doubting is , madness. I will likely then just put a Radeon R9 280X or R9 290X or whatever is out.

Any idiots that are tempted to say anything about bottle-necking ...STOP! JUST DON'T!

Anyway I am dead fussy as I stated and I really like things well made with good materials as well as looking smart, so the orange and other colours were out it had to be black, lol.

When you get these cases with the funny sharp edges and styling that end up looking like they belong on an kids desk with both the HR Giger Alien figurines along with those from Predator or the ones with the strips of light on the edges that look like a prop from an early seventies Doctor Who episode?!

Or at the other end just too plain as some of the Lian Li cases are. But I guess you can work with that and put the necassary components in to make something like really sweet.

THE KAVERIAN PECULIARITY

I have built, or in the process of, building a Kaveri system.

I have been posting videos of this and have twenty two parts this far but as I stated I am still in the process of building it.

Now this far the component list is as follows ...

AMD A10-7850K APU
MSI A88XM Gaming Series Motherboard
Kingston Hyper X Best 2400Mhz RAM
Crucial MX100 SSD 256GB x2
Coolermaster TX3 Cooling Fan
Corsair Graphite 230T Case
Corsair Vengeance K70 Keyboard
AOC Monitor (think it says 6 series Lol)
Akasa Memory Card Reader

I think that is it currently and so have side things still to get. Some of which I am using older tech I used with laptop, like my utterly appalling HP mouse I would certainty tell people to avoid, anything with this two letters on it!

Some things I have just wanted for awhile like a Blu-Ray writer. Currently using LiteOn external DVD writer but the time has passed by sine time ago that I need far greater capacity in a writeable optical disk! No doubt no sooner have I bought one a 4K writer week appear?! Lol!

Still even if it does I dare say that the unit and the disks week be expensive, as the tend largely is for the tech to start becoming expensive yet again!

I have watched the to end graphics cards go from the giggly silly £300 for a card to the cackling laughter until unconscious price of way over a thousand pounds?!

Sorry but tech magazines have key everyone down I believe, one in particular, in deciding to just wax lyrical over things like they are being paid to do so. A graphics card should never received mite than three stars that is above £400 in price. Of you have lost marbles and do not see the issue with graphics chips costing more than high end Intel chips then your not a full pack or being paid I am afraid.

It is not a Bugatti Veyron, it's a graphics chip your eyes won't see any difference with for two years or more and the chip will be a fifth of the price by then.

But I am posting this post regarding the above system and things I have seen period posting but forgot all about, sorry I have a condition that causes short term memory lapses! Sorry I have a condition that causes short term memory lapses.

Sorry I could not resist that, Lol. But the statement is unfortunately true though!

Anyway I spotted it again tonight and period are stating about experiencing various issues that were first put down to drivers and then to RAM.

Now just to clarify, the ram I listed is clocked at 2400MHz. Or I bought it as this speed as opposed to buying a lower speed RAM and overclocking it.

I have this far run the following games on both standard clocks and with a press of the OC Genie button, sorry not exactly sure what OCs this performs just yet.

Games played ... at 1080p

Fallout 3 (maxed out plays smooth)
Crysis (maxed out plays smooth)
Crysis 3(maxed out unplayable, low to med better not smooth enough not tried since OC Genie pressed)
Skyrim (maxed out smooth)
Thief (maxed out bit quite as bad as Crysis 3 but unplayable, not tried since OC Genie)

Now it was immediate to point from the graphics capabilities of Crysis on starting why it crawled with standard clocks. Once outside with the daylight and plants it was very obvious! Lol!

As stated not run since OC.

More importantly I wanted to point out, due to what I have been reading, that I have had no issues with the system whatsoever. No crashes, freezes or blue screens of death and until Crysis 3 no issues with gaming frame rates!

So not really sure why others are having issues with their systems but maybe it is because my components were all picked to work well?

I had originally planned on Vengeance Ram. Also a few other things too.

I also plan to upgrade my mouse to something particularly nice.

I also plan on an Radeon R7 250 OC 2GB DDR3 to use dual graphics and overclock the card to match the APU.

This should get Crysis 3 up to amazing levels but also playable? It's not that I want to be able to play Crysis 3, but I do, but just to know that this graphics are achievable in 1080p on my system so that I can test assured that when the next wave of games give out with these levels of graphics I can play them with those drool worthy looks. Maybe even better if, as I suspect, other gangs companies will code more efficiently.

Bethesda springs to mind immediately!

I won't be buying Watchdogs, Lol. Not a lover of third person, though admittedly I was enjoying The Witcher for awhile.

I shall update as and when I acquire the last bits. Some week be the end of next week, around the 11th July. Others will be 25th July.

Undecided which will be bought when right now.

Also my laptop might get sold so some things may arrive earlier than planned.

I don't have a good record for selling items it had to be admitted, Lol.

Will do some benchmarks once I have cleared up the ... FALLOUT that is my house since having my head inside a PC case several times in the last week to ten days!

Yes my medical condition makes this bloody hard to do to! :P

Apologies for the stubborn bold font but I am afraid that Google is systematically ruining all the properties it's purchasing fur done bizarre reading only know to them. Their Blogger App is utter shit and Android also thinks it's smarter when in reality the person that coded the swipe keyboard shootings hand his head in shame. Quite how you can take software that works fine and ruin it is being me.

As an example Americans must have a very funny English dictionary as it completely bloody ignores the first letter you touch and half the others and substitutes the word toy wanted and sword through for one that starts with a completely different letter to the one you stated with, are you fecking DUNCE?, and then gives me a word I have never heard of.

Though when I series (swiped) through Embody, Enrich, Anguish, Anguish, English it gave me Shiekh and then Anguish?! You can see the others as I could not be bothered and Jeff then in to price my point. Left them in to prove my point!

The best one is when you then highlight the word is it then immediately offers you the one that you did want and did swipe through?!

Like it is coded to deliberately wind you up?! It works because if a guy knocked on my door tomorrow and stated he was the coder for Google and was responsible for the keyboard, swipe and the dictionary I would want to punch him in the jaw hard enough to bloody well break it! Lol.

I would do that to the coder for their App too and for the one responsible for limiting the tags, or labels. Hmm WordPress don't have a minute dickweeds!

You would think they won't want to piss people off to go elsewhere but no. Over half a dozen updates and their OS is still shit. Sorry if your a fan, I was but it was good and worked when I was. Now its utter shit and frustrating and seven or more updates to Android and no visual clue to them whatsoever. I have no idea how many updates, if any, Blogger has had.

I think they have realised they have done so much damage to it they now can't be bothered?

After all they are working on an army of real androids to take over the world!

Lol.

THE ACE COOLERMASTER AND AKASA

And these would be the Power Supply Unit, the CPU (APU in this case) Cooler and the Memory Card Reader.

The PSU is in a red colour which, before anyone thinks sarcastic thoughts, took the place of a Corsair PSU at the last minute, the latter of which I did not hear many good things about, at around half the cost. AFter reading up on Ace PSUs I started to wonder if the ACE unit would last the week?!

It has an it has been surprisingly quiet I must say. I did up the wattage from the original 550 Watt to 600 Watt just in case and have yet to plug another graphics card into the system, which IS coming I assure you!

The Coolermaster TX3 Cooler was also a last minute switch and I did originally plan to get a Corsair closed loop water cooler and then decided on a heatsink and fan before I saw this one on Scan for around £16 I think it was! Meaning I could get the system up and running two weeks earlier than previously thought. I have since seen an advertisement for a Zalman Liquid Cooler in one of the magazines I recently bought I am interested in checking out. This cooler is also surprisingly quiet too and even with the MSI A88XM standard OC Genie switched on I get nothing in the way of noise I can detect at any time even with no TV or music playing!

Surprising.

Last is a schoolboy error of my memory card reader and a sure fire example of why the cheapest option normally does not work out that way. I purchased a Akasa Cooler not realising it was a 3.5 inch one and in all honesty I did not think they bothered with 3.5 inch bays anymore! My Corsair Graphite Series 230T case sure as hell does not have one! So a week after I bought it I had to buy a adaptor form Maplins that at £6.99 instantly made my Card Reader more expensive than most others on offer. Annoying me as I could have gotten a much more swish looking one, another technical term there with 'swish', for the same money. Plus the reader had to live in its bay for a week being held in place but a rigid lump of white foam! Lol!

MSI A88XM GAMING SERIES MOTHERBOARD

Well a little late but now I am posting up another couple in the stressful series that is my Project Zero. The system uses Windows 7 Professional and if anyone makes comments about Windows 8 ... well you will be just ... BARRED! LMAO!

This one involves the wrongly ordered Mini ATX motherboard of the MSI A88XM, yessss that is what the M stands for nitwit!, Gaming Series Motherboard. Once I realised I emailed Scan (Scan.co.uk) who very kindly rang me up stating it will still fit in the ATX case to which I then said 'oh well leave it as it is then!

Here is me showing it to viewers on my Youtube account where I will go through every section of the building process. This is admittedly a simple build so if its boring parts then do not watch it, lol. Though on some I think are too boring, like later when I post up the Akasa card reader and adaptor fitting, I will ramble on about stuff that was ongoing simultaneously involving other blogs!

In this way I hope to raise a few eyebrows of those that were totally unaware as well as using one video to feed two separate blogs?!

I am not German but I am efficient .. at times, lol.

As stated the computer is up and running! But it is not finished just yet and there are currently over twenty videos involving it and I have two parts turning up in the next few days. One major part to be posted later is the Corsair Vengeance K70 Keyboard and another one just a four pin fan splitter cable as my motherboard is missing a couple of ports! Lol!

I am very selective and thorough in my research of all things and not just tech and as stated I still have a few things to go, a Blu-Ray writer and a Mouse in two weeks time. I know what I am getting already and ... all in good time, lol. After all I do not know it may change? Some of that I did get were changes to earlier ones I decided on, though this was decided upon so that I could get the rig up and running two weeks earlier than I originally planned!

A miracle achieved as my daughter rang me twice in need which cost me £50 while doing this! Bad timing, not her fault as she did not know, lol.

Of course I have to acquire two normal hard disks to supplement the SSD Drive, a mirrored array to ensure no loss of data, I am using and likely another SSD Drive either equal to the 256GB Drive I have or 512GB?

Now I normally make a beeline for Western Digital with hard disks, though I have used Seagate and others. Though my system currently seems to make no sound ... oooh wait let me switch of my little fan I have on ... umm, there is a sound but it is very low and I cannot even work out if it is the PC or not?! Though granted I have nothing on and also I am not gaming right now and nor am I overclocked or have a separate card installed yet for dual graphics ... ooohh I forgot about that! Yes a second card will be bought in about a months time for dual graphics, lol.

But then it should be remembered that at the last minute I opted out of a Coolermaster, or was it Corsair?, Hydro 80 thigamajig (techie speak lol) closed water cooler at the last minute! This would allow me to get the rig running and added to this I was not sure about overclocking while using dual graphics?! So when I do whether it is an OC'd card that I then raise the APU up to match or have to do both then I will use the water-cooling idea. Possibly I may head up the scale higher to something else like the Alphacool stuff?! Umm I think it was Alphacool?! Lol!

Yes so I got a special offer at Scan (.co.uk) for the Coolermaster Hype TX3 CPU cooling fan and decided on that at the last minute which was around £16 after VAT was added. Anything is better than the included cooler, lol.

There may well be a couple of other things that have slipped my, FIBROFOG, mind? Afterwards I am thinking of expanding into pod-casts but if I do this I want to do it with the utmost professionalism and using some unique things about my personality to boot!

Sometimes, like this time, the sections or jobs that I do end up in two parts and partly because I leave in the rookie mistakes I should be making because I am normally hard and critical of myself with a few jokes or names, though I never remember, lol. Sometimes because the damn memory runs out as I keep forgetting this is 1080p video here! Sometimes because it is just long and I try and break it up if I realise that is and do not get carried away with what I am doing?

:p

LOL

VIDEOS ...

Cannot recall WHY there is a part two but here it is ...

THE BIG REVEAL

And I am sorry to have to say this AMD but that was a let down.

It seems there were a couple of words missing from the orginal text that was discovered by others, rather conveniently, lol.

When it was found and as stated in my last post the words 'The most advance APU ever' were spotted and thrown around the Internet like confetti. Of course I could only come to the conclusion that this was something better and more powerful that the currect top APU which is the A10-7850K based on the Kaveri core.

Now there had been some mention that the size of the number of transistors in the top Kaveri did not add up correctly and fell short of the size of the die.

So I naturally assumed, quite wrongly I might add, that it was either a 6 Kaveri Core, or greater GPU Core or both. Then the ball looked like a Graphene molecule so thought this may have been implemented somehow to make them faster than the currect chip but with the same core counts? Wrong again!

Two or three wrongs, I could not be more wrong than a wrong person on wrong day!

I played Fallout New Vegas while the counter was counting down and I was way overtime so exited the game while in in interesting part, jumping in and out of The Divide looking for titbits and any missed weapons, and the first thing I see were just the words 'Don't Be So Impatient' which had also been spotted by some bright sparks early yesterday I think it was.

So I am sitting there thinking 'WTF AMD?' then jumped into the Semi Accurate forum I had been monitoring only to see some confused comments about the so called big reveal. Not just me then? Lol! They were talking about the mobile Kaveru chips and I thought 'It can't have been that, it clearly stated the most advanced APU ever?!'

But flicking back to the webpage I had not only been waiting impatiently for I had told one brother and a nephew about earlier in the day now had a movie running. Only now the words..

'The most advanced APU ever goes mobile'?!

Now considering they have not released a pure CPU FX chip in a while it was natural to think that the AMD enthusiasts out there, myself included, were patiently and eagerly awaiting the reveal of a slightly more powerful Kaveri desktop chip. But we all got disappointed.

Now quite what marketing idiot thought this a good idea I have no idea but not too bright. You do not tease a desktop chip and then go and announce a mobile chip!

I thought after recent times that this type of hyping up and letting down was at an end? Clealry this is not the case, lol.

Sorry AMD and God only knows where you get the marketing guys from but that was clearly stupid and that is a first for me. It wont alter the AMD products I intend to buy but that was a major disappointment, even for me!

So it seems my original shopping list is not going to be altered at all then?

This could have been a lot worse and far more annoying because if they had set that page up with say four weeks or more as a countdown people might have held off buying their products thining that a month is all they have to wait to get something better, even if its for more money?! If so then this would have been a right royal balls up in all honesty!

Oh well back to waiting for another year and hoping that the next, REAL, more powerful APU, DESKTOP, will plug into an FM2+ socket?!

Fingers crossed!

Now I have been forced out of my gaming for no good reason I think I will quickly see what else has been announced at Computex?

AMD's SECOND MYSTERY COUNTDOWN

Well now the website I mentioned in my last post about counting down to the most advanced APU ever has been accompanied by a second one?!

Well I have my suspicions about the second one actually as it is totally different in design. There is a difference of several hours between the two reaching zero and the expected jokes regarding time zone mix ups have already been made.

However what I will say is that if this is indeed another work by AMD then I think they have been reading the things posted online in that people did not understand the ... err hidden message stating its the most advanced APU ever, ergo not a mobile chip, and put up another webpage to deal with the mobile FX APU's?

That would be my guess in all this, unless someone is aping the first to get hits which might be somewhat stupid considering how close to the launch/announcement date we are.

Anyway my money is on ...

The first announcement being a 6 Steamroller Core 10 GPU core A12 APU or possibly Excavator, second most likely is a strictly FX CPU on Steamroller or Excavator. Latter would make more sense due to the silence over the FX brand since those behemoth 220W CPUs.

The second one is going to be about the FX branded Mobile APUs which I am now leaning towards Excavator for.

These are the only things as near a dammit I can think of that does not involve Graphene in some form?

A DREAMY SET OF RUMORS

Right now then...

Of late I have been working towards something for several weeks now that is long overdue.

I have also been diving into PC technology of late as well as OPERATING SYSTEMS.
Now I have stated how I liked AMD's Kaveri but that I just wishes it was a smidgen better. I very much like their ideas and I do not listen to other people's ramblings about AMD especially when they're obviously fanboys, uttering things about technology they could not dream of understanding. I stated that had the frequency clocked a little higher, additional 2 cores in CPU and another 4 or 5 in integrated GPU and able to crossfire with an R7-260 this would be very cool.

Now let us remember that they stated that a desktop version of the chips found in the consoles would be released at a late date?

Also recall my ramblings, I think it was this blog but maybe not, regarding the discovery of Graphene and it's highly unusual properties and the endless number of potential things it can be used for?

Well tonight I was researching things all PC related and I stated previously that AMD were for once suspiciously quiet and no announcements about anything coming during 2014, other than the mobile chips that is. I thought about trying to build a system this year, yes, yes I do that every six months or so I know and it's boring, but could not shake the feeling that if I bought an AMD A10-7850K APU that within months, or even weeks, something better would be released? I decided that if not revealed I would have to just buy the better chip on release! Hmm costly possibly? Unless it was six months later or more.

Well tonight I discovered that a webpage they are claiming is AMD's is actually counting down to an announcement?! One smart Alec looked at the source code and found that it states 'the most advanced APU ever.'! That is quite something to announce and the fact that a webpage had been created to start up speculation seems to suggest that it will be something quite unexpected?

Am I going to get to see and hear about the APU I was expecting? Two extra steamroller cores, few more GPU cores and higher frequency?

Let us also remember that there was speculation regarding the die size of the top Kaveri being somewhat bigger than that needed by the included transistors and such?

Now it certainly looks like many little things discovered are building up an interesting picture of possibilities?
On the Overclocked forum below are a bunch of people now speculating as to what this announcement will be. Included speculation includes an AM3+ socket FX CPU with the Steamroller cores, starting this despite the fact that the code clearly states APU. But then there is a picture going about of a Hot Air Balloon with the AMD FX letters on it. Also the FX moniker dues seem to be being used for upcoming mobile chips too?
Also of surprise is that others have linked in the Graphene idea to CPUs like I did and they state that AMD have a license to use it. Someone else takes the piss by starting that yeah like AMD would be able to do that before Intel? Obviously this guy or gal fully understands the complex building blocks that make up computing chips? Obviously he or she has realised that these 3D gate transistors are of no issue to a new substance that only works when it is one atom thick? He or she also clearly knows that Intel would not underestimate AMD after managing to keep way ahead of them several times in the last five years? Oh no wait a minute? Lol!
The fact is that the difference in the sizes if these two companies were just as wide years ago when AMD DID leap ahead of Intel. So any build claims like this ate both naive and made on the assumption that AMD are unlikely to prove them wrong as for 5 years they have been behind. Well I say behind but then that rather depends how you look at it and I do not see it that way. In some non gaming situations Intel is ahead, yes and by a bit of a margin. In gaming they are not ahead at all unless you pair the Intel with a capable graphics card! So odd that gamers bleat on about Intel all the time.

At any rate you can read the discussion below and I am only half way through it and going that someone along the way had some hard or at least convincing evidence on some details?! Damn it I do not even know what today's date is?! Lmao!

Now I am going back to this discussion.

EDIT: Wow first of that is the frst time in a very long time that Google's Blogger App actually succesfully placed my keywords in there?! Thius iwas somewhat bizarre and I could copy and past the keywords elsewhere but they vanished upon posting! Hopefull this is at an end now and I do not have to worry about anything else?! Well except the formatting differences of course!

Secondly I just want to add that how mad this latest announcement of an announcement is! Boy am I feeling relieved right now that I had not gone ahead and started purchasing anything?! LMAO!

I have looked further and read a lot more and there are many guesses flying about as to what this announcement entails but they seem to be missing the simple and few facts we have already regarding this.

It clearly states "The most powerful APU ever" along with comments about it being ahead of its time. So why people are banging on about mobile Kaveri's is beyond me. Surely it would state 'MOBILE APU' and this would also be an overkill?!

Also I was rather confused at the FX brand naming being used for upcioming mobile chips and think that this is a clue to be honest that should not be ignored lightly.

I stated in the edited text that I was glad I had not purchased anything and rhis is because I am fully convinced it is a desktop chip. I also stated that there was some rumour about how the die size did not match up and this was pointed out by someone on the forums, Seronx.

I was always surprised that AMD never announced a 6 CPU Core APU. I was also surprised that January's announcement had only two chips being released based on Kaveri, along with the drop in clocked frequency if I am honest.

I stated on this blog that the lack of anything to do with the FX CPUs was also a little curious and we all knew that a desktop version of the console chip, or chips, was going to be released 'at a later date'.

This last one seems the most likely in all honesty but I am crossing my fingers very hard for a 6 Kaveri core, 8 would have me pass out me thinks, and a few more graphics cores with a raise in the clocked frequency? I have also been wondering what the differences may well be if the decided to coat the tiny innards of any chips with a layer of Graphene? I mean we are only talking of a ingle atom here after all? Remember its as strong as steel reportedly? That last theory could be a lot quicker to implement, for now that is, than anything more ... adventurous in design?

After all its a known fact that the extremes in tempratures will force the silicon to fail, otherwise known as frying a chip, where the silicon fractures. Coating it in a layer of Graphene may reneder this possibility null and void?

I have no details and nor have a looked it up regarding the substance known as Grapehene and am merely speculating as to the possibilities. I know not the number of implementations that can be made to a processor regarding this substance I just simply realised upon hearing of its creation that there would be.

However an easy implementation of the substance could enable a number of things to take place that would make things radically change overnight?

I for one know that if this does indeed turn out to be the case I will be chewing my fingers off at the base for the other possibilities that could arise over the next couple of years and I am referring to a lot more than just COMPUTING here too!

Reading about Fullerene on Wikipedia was interesting, where Grapned is arranged into a tube like structure that could be used as the pipes within a processor.

AMD A10-7850K

When I started this blog I wanted to do something a little different.

I have spent years waiting for launches and then days waiting for benchmarks. Over all this time several things started started to appear to me.

1) More and more benchmarking programs started to appear

2) Stupid people started to work for free for a number of companies by becoming pay per free sales executives (read: very sad fanboys)

3) More and more people both doing benchmarks as well as rowing in forums did not know what they were talking about

So I picked up a few techniques.

When I buy a CPU I do so by looking forwards and NOT BACKWARDS! Quite how some numb-skulls can justify a thousand quid chip because of some very quick number in a three year old program is beyond all understanding. Anything currently out there will run just fine too and you would be hard pressed to notice. However many out there come across in reviews to insinuate that you would. NO!

So I started to flick around different websites that are just begging like besotted love struck dogs on heat for site hits. Scrabbling around for words and graphs that extend over many pages to make you think they know what they are talking about when they give you their conclusion.

The truth is I wade through them all looking for one or two signs that lead me to the truth.

Today I did just that and I found it too!

I was specifically looking for something that showed the benefits of all the goodies AMD had included within their new Kaveri chip and specifically the A10-7850K. I also reminded myself that whatever I found would only be an early example of improvement and that this would gradually get better and better over time. I was in for a surprise.

Now I cannot recall what the benchmark was, may come back and edit this at a later date, but what I found kind of blew me away!

While wading through a great many pages of people muttering on about useless and pointless i3 chips I found a benchmark whereby the A10-7850K was 5 times faster than an i5?! Not an i3 but an i5!! Five times faster!!

Now here is where I use my noggin whereas many do not...

Now once I have seen these few benchmarks that show these kinds of speeds and improvements my brain then decides on the following...

1) Everythiong else is badly programmed or just not programmed to show the benefits and so redundant..

2) No coder worth his salt would code their new software in the same manner currently and ignore all the extra processing power on offer, ergo making said benchmarking software redundant.

3) If any of the benchmarking programs were any good they would not be plowing through loads and loads of software making most of them...REDUNDANT!!!

4) Any software engineer wants his, hers of their software to sell and be more popular over all others and so will want it to be faster and  look better than all their rivals, therefore NOT ignoring all the extra processing power on offer, making all benchmark programs....well REDUNDANT! LOL.

What I find highly amusing is that I am always excited about a new CPU or GPU because I am thinking that when software and games come out FOR this chip that they will be several steps ahead over whats currently available. Now I assume that is what everyone else thinks and it IS what they should think!!

But they start harping on about an extra second in this program or a few frames per second in that program as if this renders the chip unusable?! Stoopid!!

Now factor in on top of what I said about the HSA making it five times faster in one benchmark, 45% faster in Battlefield 4 and the fact that much of the future software will be coded for the next generation consoles which will be VERY PC like and it will be a very good time.

There is just one other thing that no one has mentioned within all this!!

What benefits will Valve's Steam OS bring to the table?

Linux users have been crowing on about how Linux is much faster than Windows, excluding Ubuntu and Unity in that statement, and if Valve can prove that is certainly the case right across the board then oh my god!!

I have been hearing of some noise along the grapevines of many developers, coder and software houses being a little bit more than excited and making motions to move towards certain coding techniques with the AMD hUMA and HSA in the forefront of their minds.

I think I am now beginning to see why and as much as I would still like to see a 6 CPU and 8 GPU APU I think that at the earliest possible opportunity I will start gathering together some bits and pieces to finally build that rig I am 6 years overdue of building?!

Still I saved a lot of money from all those rigs I never built! LMAO!!

Now I cannot wait for all that software to be released that will take advantage of it all, I think give it a month or two should start seeing some things appear?!

Woohoo!

THE ONE EIGHTY DEGREE TURN

Intel has a long history of deliberate over pricing, anti-trust along with anti-competetive behaviour. I have noted that they have reached such a size that they do not really worry about breaking any laws. They always look for other ways to gain an advantage even though they have had a huge one for quite sometime now.

A couple of years back I was quite interested in AMD's new APUs like their first one of Llano. I intended to get a laptop with one in bit ended up getting something else. A little time later I remember visiting retails stores expecting over half the stock to be powered by AMD's APUs with just one or two GPUs. It never quite happened.

Instead what did curiously happen was something that did not make sense to me and that was the talk of Ultrabooks. These things looked very svelte in all honesty but if I wanted that I would go with an Apple (ugh). They were also graphically underpowered and had the first solid state disk drives has opposed to the spinning hard drives. Only these were mostly 128BGB and were not even enough to store what I had on my current laptop!

Before long every store I walked into was awash with these Ultrabooks?! AMD based laptops did not amount to half the number of Ultrabooks on offer. Then there were the All-In-One PCs that mostly had Intel Core i3 CPUs in them?! I lost count of the number I walked straight by because they had Intel's i3 and i5 and very few AMD APUs?!

I also never saw anyone actually seriously looking at them and I did fancy a Lenovo model that did have an APU because it did look good. But I did not. I thought at the time how mad it was and simply could not understand how these manufacturers thought for one moment that people were going to buy them. Not anyone that understood their hardware, that is for sure. Yet they were slightly over-priced too and everywhere.

After all this time I now see this report with the link provided below that states that Acer got into troubles and they blame it on the Ultrabooks?

What you mean that not everyone thinks that Intel CPUs on their own are all that?! Even in slim and sexy metal chassis with nice keyboards?! Should not believe all the forums you read on the Internet, nor Intel for that matter.

The funny part about all this is that Intel's own questionable behaviour may well be coming back to bite them in the arse?! Ultrabooks making everyone a little touchy and wary and with AMD chips going inside the consoles and not the talk about Kaveri and its four different approaches to gaining speed on Intel.

Should be an interesting year for sure.

4K MONITOR PRICE FROM DELL SHOCK

Well this is somewhat astounding to read.

A 4K monitor, so instead of 1,080 pixels down the screen you actually have double across and down so 2,160 and 3840 across, which is less than $1,000?!

It gets better still as you may be thinking "oh so $999.99 then but no! How about $699?! Now translated into British Pounds this is, oh crap where is the 'pound key on this keyboard, so should be about GBP450?! Though it never quite works out like that as companies just love ripping off us Brits. Even so at the GBP700 its likely to cost it is still incredible.

When I built my last rig I paid around that price for my 1600x1200 Viewsonic monitor. The size of it was 20 inches in diameter and I should really tell you that this Dell 4K monitor is 28 Inches across! So your talking about something with perfect visuals like that of Apple's retina display but in 28 inches?!

Now of course this has a bit of a quandary for the use in TV. Now maybe the Blu-Ray upscale players are good enough and I simply do not know. But you will likely be in for a bloody long wait to see TV in 4K. Luckily in some cases TV's would double as computer monitors for gaming and this will be true for my system if I ever build it.

There is however one other thing and that is the new CPUs, or more correctly APUs made by AMD who are about to release their new kaveri APU in a mere few days.

I have been waiting for this particular chip fr quite some time now with its Steamroller Cores and its GCN graphics bolted onto the same chip. There is one thing I had been hoping for and that is at least a six CPU core with a GPU core bolted on. Better an 8 but then there was this talk about hUMA and Mantle. The very idea that the GPU cores could be used as CPU cores has the potential to be one hell of a game changer.  Hmm now let me think...I think there are 13 cores on the GPU side?! So added to the four steamroller cores that would be a CPU, when NOT playing games, with 17 cores thereabouts?!

EDIT: AMD KAVERI HAS FOUR CPU CORES AND EIGHT GPU CORES SO CAN BE CLAIMED TO BE A 12 CORE CHIP!

Now of course I do not know whether this will perform as well as a steamroller core, core to core? But even if they are half the speed what you have is something of the equivalent speed of a CPU with no less than ten and a half steamroller cores?! If it is about 50% the speed that is. Similar speed and your talking 17 cores!!

EDIT: AMD KAVERI HAS FOUR CPU CORES AND EIGHT GPU CORES SO CAN BE CLAIMED TO BE A 12 CORE CHIP!

These are the types of things I think about when there is talk of new tech.

The trouble is all this sounds great but can you run a 4K monitor with one? As for Crossfire does all the new toys work when it is on crossfire? Can you now add any other card in crossfire and not just an equally powered card.

Hopefully this will be answered in the next few days. It will also be very interesting to see what else will come out of the AMD APU stable throughout the rest of 2014?!

AMD KAVERI & THE ONSLUGHT OF TROLLS AND FANBOYS

Been awhile since I posted on here, sorry about that. Had several things going on.

Today I was looking around to see if there had been any engineering samples of the next generation APU in the form of AMD's Kaveri, due for release on January 14th 2014.

I am quite interested to see the benefits of the HSA and HUMA. Despite really wanting to see and buy an 8 core Steamroller in an FX guise at 28nm I am trying to convince myself into the APU side based on something that many fail to realise, see next paragraph. That is that despite the AMD Kaveri having only four cores and no mention of a 6 or 8 core processor that in future that GPU side of the chip can also provide processing duties. So I am telling myself that with new software, who cares about how old software is coded anyway, the coding will take advantage of the GPU side when it comes to anything else other than games?! In effect this would make the GPU side faster than the CPU side and I say that regarding all cores, not just AMD's cores.

So technically half would be four cores and the other of a possibly higher grade, be it slightly faster than the four cores of more equal to an added 6 cores? AT the end of the day it is the benchmarks that count but ONLY if they are coded for this. Until such a time when this occurs no one can say nothing. Only this has not stopped many opening themselves up for a huge amount of crriticsm in the coming months.

This link below has an article regarding AMD's Kaveru being photographed in Engineering Sample form. But that is all it is and far more interesting are the comments at the bottom whereby trolls and fanboys get into such fistycuffs that even the nicknames used are intended to poke fun. Unfortunately the degrading aspect of the CPU as well as the GPU wars is both low, imooral and childish. Rather remeniscent of the Apple versus Samsung debarcle?

Now I see it thus...many people, whether employees, sccerpting gifts or just idiot fanboys, are becoming scared that it just may be that AMD might be on the up and up with this next APU and sounds like they are scared. The mere fact that these new generation APUs are the heart of the consoles and that there must be a good reason for this seems to be striking fear into the hearts of Intel fans, and there is one in particular I can think of. It seems there closer to getting ot right AMD get the louder and more confontational these people become.

I hate the fanboy flame war thing I really do. It is for this basis that I rarely entertain forums and someone even suggested me starting forums for the twelve subjects I cover but not interested dealing with people who refuse to budge no matter what when they either quite obviously wrong are throw around their beliefs as if they are proven fact without them being based on any data of any kind.

Now I for one had thought that precisely a year ago I could start thinking about building a new rig, computer, which would start early in 2013. Due to unforeseen circumstance, mostly covered on other blogs I have, this did not occur. Part of the reason is that I did not quite achieve many of my goals nor input as much as I thought I would into my blogs, thereby not quite garnering enough visitors to achive things in record times. Added to this there was an issue with the blogs and they were inundated with far too many adverts which I had not realised were there. SOme had around ten on or more when the total allowed for certain ads is three. Bizarrely it turned out that my pop up blocker was actualy hiding the blocks containing the ads in my set up layount screen. So I kept adding ads to ones already there which just krept upwards over many months. This did two things...

  1. Firstly it stopped my revenue from Google in  its tracks and it refused to budge for the last four months and had likely been slowing down for a couple of months before that too.
  2. Secondly it was putting people off returning to all my blogs as they looked an absolute mess and it is annoying that I had not realised this and has cost me. Not helped by the fact that Google refuse to even speak to you until you reach the minimum payments of £60 per month.
  3. Meaning that I should have reached that months ago but did not due to a problem that was primarily Google's they refused to speak to me about.

So now that this has been discovered it has also been corrected...

  1. But this will take a little while for the people that were put off by the inundation of ads to realise and come back more often that they were.
  2. The revenue which already leapt forward in a 24 hour period proving what I have said to be correct will move ever higher over the nect couple of months as new visitors come back more often and visitors I have had over the last 6 months also come back more often
  3. Based in that last detail being correct then at the time of the launch of the AMD Kaveri chip I may be able to buy my first purchases to FINALLY build a budget PC, which I will of course film which will help promote my blogs as well as my YouTube account, lol.
  4. It was always a long term plan that would take one or two years to get everything neatly networked together to work as a whole and achieve what I wanted. Yes I was wrongly cocky and over confident that I could do this in less than a year but it mattered not I was in this for the long haul no matter what.
  5. Also remember I knew not that you could generate revenue from blogs when I started, I only wanted to help people and just doing what many said I should have done for the last ten years!
I had hinted of this before but I did not really want to put any details in unless I was sure and I only had that sudden LEAP in the first 24 hours of one set of figures. But I really needed a minimum of a month and more realistically TWO MONTHS to be absolutely sure. At this point, around the launch of AMD Kaveri on the 14th January 2014 strangely enough, I might able to make predictions on my blogs with an absolute certainty. Once it starts ot does not stop and just heads upwards.

One other subject I am into is exotic animals and plants belong mostly to the Reptiles, Amphibians, Fish and Orchid areas and have acquired slowly some tools and now only need materials to start making custom design cages that have been knocking around in my head for over a decade. SO attempting to do some manufacturing and get nbetter and better at it to sell some here and there, a back up plan.

Of course and as I have long staed my plans were so multi-faceted that it would put the best diamonds to shame! Here alone I have described, technically, just six of a much larger numbers of goals set out to achieve. Each of the corrupt organizations being another list, helping people and groups of people is another list and so on and so forth.

Now hopefully I can discover in the coming weeks that the AMD Kaveri chip is pretty decent, especially for the price tag, and can purchase the one being called the AMD A10-7850K or here rumours of a faster one to come a little later with a slight wait. If this is tha case I can 'drop in' a AMD trinity or Richland into an FM2+, or whatever the latest motherboard is, until the quicker chip is released?!

Oh yes I forgot I need to keep an eye on the Steam Operating System too to see if that pans out? Hope it does as Windows 7 is the only OS from Microsoft worth having in my opinion. Likely might be the last one worth having which is not good so the Steam OS which is Linux based could work out to be fantastic with any luck. Unlike a particular Linus OS called Ubuntu, lol.

Here's a look at a Kaveri APU engineering sample:

BIT-TECH AT IT AGAIN

LMAO!!

Well here is Bit-Tech of Custom PC Magazine fame, which I stopped liking when they became extremely biased a few years back.

For the first time in bloody ages they mention AMD and a CPU and yet they get their facts wrong?! I guess that is what happenes when you obviously have gobne out of your way to ignore their products?! Lol.

No Bit-Tech, Steamroller is NOT AMD's current core in use, that would be Piliedriver you planks.

Also revealed are details of what the highest-spec chip will be. Kaveri will have up to 4 CPU cores (2 modules) that will be based on the company's existing CPU architecture, Steamroller. It will also feature a GPU composed of 8 GCN 1.1 Compute Units (CUs), making for a Stream Processor (SP) count of 512, or the equivalent of a Radeon HD 7750 desktop card.
http://www.bit-tech.net/news/hardware/2013/11/12/amd-kaveri-apu-details-and-release-date-ann/1

What I find rather hilarious about this report is that they have consistently stated that AMD chips are utter pants! So this report strongly insinuates that this new chip will be pants too?!

Hmm a bit odd that!

AMD CONFERENCE KAVERI NEWS

Well I have been waiting for the new generation of AMD APUs and CPUs, if there are any of the latter, based on the Steamroller Cores and HUMA design.

We are very close now to a launch and there are very differing rumours floating about none of which really matter due to it now being weeks away at most. Some state that shipment is already ongoing while others state it starts in December.

I have been waiting for the AMD Developer's Conference as a number of announcements were due to be made with the date flying about the Internet being the 11th November 2013 for all the announcements and that we will find out all on this date. Then I realized that the conference was actually over THREE DAYS, 11th to the 13th November, and thought 'well there we go yet again with people making statements as if they were fact when they are not'.

It is currently 18.43 so the evening of the 12th November 2013 and there is very little about other than a few announcements that have emerged from the conference.

"Specifically, desktop availability will take place on January 14, executives said at AMD’s APU13 conferences on Monday. Chips for notebooks, servers, and embedded systems will follow later in the year", executives said.
That above quote is from the following link...

AMD's next-gen Kaveri chip due in January | PCWorld:

Another thing being reported on some sites is that on January 14th 2014 the 'DESKTOP, version of AMD APU with steamroller cores codenamed Kaveri will be launched with laptops and notebooks being launched later in the year?!

Sorry but this is a little off sounding to me. AMD APUs normally get launched in laptops FIRST and desktops LATER! Should this happen the other way around it will be the first time I am aware of that this was done that way around.

Also my local PC World/Currys Megastore has spent a few days VERY recently changing all their displays and shunting many laptops off onto older shelving and left a load of spaces. The new stands have a mahogany like look about them and look rather dapper. Fancy in other words, lol.

It drives me insane when I walk by and I hear the sales people trying to sell a laptop or notebook with an Intel Core i3 in it and I feel like walking over and saying "don't, just don't!", lmao.

There are also some mad claims about the Internet too and some have been lambasted for them. But I do find it annoying when someone claims that there will be a 30 or 40 percent increase in performance and armchair experts claim that this is not possible!! Grr, you cannot say that! Not likely would be more accurate but there are so many things being implemented in this chip that you cannot say that. Unless you know more than the designers do of course, lol.

Put basically there is a new core for starters and this time has a floating point unit to itself for the first time. It is on a smaller lithography, which may help it run cooler and clock higher. Then there is the HUMA aspect of the chip. No one really knows anything about these combined things but quick to come online and state what it will or wont do, lol.

As for the many core versions of 6 or 8 I have read nothing. Yes there are many stating that there will not be any more, FX Chips, but I don't know. It would seem strange to have a 4 core then 6 then move up to 8 and then back to 4 again. PLus because of all the hype before release previously and if I was AMD I would not want to repeat that. I would keep any CPU only chips under wraps until just before launch. Though this would be a liuttle unfair to those who bought AM3+ motherboards hoping to upgrade to Steamroller.

Me personally maybe think there will be a 6 core Steamroller FX. What I would like to see is a 6 core APU!! Now if they did this with a higher number or graphics cores than the 4 cores then I think that would be one nice chip. Unless of course Steamroller ends up slower than Piledriver which I very much doubt, lol. Besides all this there is also Valve's Steam OS. BE interesting to see what gets announced with that, now that they know that the consoles have gone AMD APU. Maybe a STEAM OS PC will ran like the proverbial Gazelle?! Here is hoping!

AMD WITH HUMA, ARE SMALLER AND FLOATS

More and more that I see, read and hear about about AMD's upcoming APUs and CPUs based on both Steamroller and Jaguar leads me to believe it is comeback time for AMD.

These are based on three simple things...

1) No shared Floating Point Unit

2) Die Shrink meaning less power consumption and higher frequencies (though the latter is but always the case)

3) Memory sharing of the same pool which reduced editing time and speeds things up, known as hUMA (Heterogenous Unified Memory Access at a wild guess lol)

Plus there will no doubt be others mainly little refinements and improvements. An example of this is the Resonant Clock Mesh which wad only introduced with the last set! This of more likely to be in got refinement that anything else.

Hopefully some other technologies will be moved on chip that are late to the table, admittedly lol.

Certain fanboys will live stating that they did out to save money our out was the cheap option. But they are deluded.

I had long thought that the PC's hardware was not being optimized that much for one thing.

For another the PS3 and XBOX 360 have been out like 6 or 7 years now. We still have 6 months before we see the Sony PS4 and the XBOX ONE on the shelves and I seriously doubt that after all these years that the next gen consoles will only seem few years ahead of the last two?!

I would put alot of money on it! Especially with this global financial crisis they sure will aware that they need a bloody big WOW FACTOR and I cannot readout to see ask of these wow factors being scrutinised by all!

Still have a bit of a wait, yes. But around end of August to mid September you can bet that the screen shots to the titles coming on both platforms will start to surface with new graphics bring explained?! They might even drop a free hints regarding the technologies used?!

Oh I hope so, lol.

ARE INTEL BULLYING PARTNERS? OH DEAR!

Well this is worrying I must say and I think I am going to have a cross-over going on here with another bog subject?! Hahaha!

Right I read an article on the Tech Report that cited a series of rumours spreading around the Internet that there CPU, which is also my namesake, Intel Haswell has an issue with USB 3.0 Devices.

Many were thinking that this would be sorted out in time for release but it seems the talk is that Intel has requested to partners to accept (or sign in blood) the issue PRIOR to receiving the CPUs (or otherwise they will not bloody get any?!)?!

Wow! Shoot yourselves in the foot why don't you?!

The odd thing is I am reading some interesting things about AMD and some deals it has going on and seems to be like the proverbial 'Phoenix Rising from the Ashes' at the moment.

I also wonder whether nor not many motherboard manufacturers have been party to something happening too as there are whispers of new AMD boards with USB 3.0 and able to take AMDs Jaguar, Richland and any others besides. Maybe there are going to be TWIN APU motherboards using the FM2 socket, I mean how damned cool would THAT be?!

As well as Intel allegedly stating this, which to me suggests that have been side-swiped by AMD on their blind side and taking it out on board manufacturers as they did not see it coming, I have also read that it is to go running to Apple too?!

Hmm tell take signs there of something in the works that Intel does not only HATE but has it running scared?!

EDIT: LINKhttp://techreport.com/news/24441/report-intel-haswell-suffers-from-usb-3-0-issue
(SORRY FORGOT THE LINK, LOL) END EDIT

I think I am going to witness something very soon that even I did not actually foresee happening after the Bulldozer launch but will be over the moon if I am right.

Intel and Apple sitting in the tree, K..I..S..S.. lol well two really nice companies getting together there, they deserve each other!

Indeed this is what I was searching for when I came across these things as I sense there is ... something brewing. I was trying to find out even more about these 8 core Jaguars and the FX CPUs and APUs likely, or not, to arrive between the beginning of April and December 2013, or even January 2014, when I stumbled across these two snippets of information.

I cannot recall a time when I have seen Intel quite so animated and rude/crafty with its partners, or indeed just being jack blunt?! Really I can't!

So if these two things I read about turn out to be true then Intel must have found out some news (ooh and how did they do that then?) that they not only did not expect but certainly did not want to hear.

There has also been a flurry of reports about the SLEEKBOOKS too with Richland inside and one in particular was a HP Envy Laptop, hope the Envy line is better than this UTTER CRAP DV7 I am currently using lol?!

As a long standing, now, proponent of HP, except this one, I was intrigued to see that as normally I do a search for their Envy lines when there is a new APU and I did this with Llano and then Trinity and they were always the last one to find any data on releases with AMD APUs inside so this was VERY DIFFERENT INDEED!

But if a strange one yu might think after all you should realise that I should want the Intel Haswell to succeed?!

WHY? I hear you ask!

Well I did say it was my NAMESAKE!

NAMESAKE?

Well my surname IS HASWELL!!

LMFAO!!!

Well I do want it to be good of course but I also want AMD to catch up too. Only I might just get more than I had hoped for?!

If so this will be very good indeed for all of us and a great deal sooner than you would have orginally guessed, or I should say 'I GUESSED'!
