THE PURSUIT OF A GUNFIGHT

Finally I have been playing a title by a label I never thought I would buy from again after a recent bad introduction of a game, I think the worst in history in all honesty and the contender for crapiest tutorials, err were there any?! Lol!

If you were not paying attention that label is Techland. The title was Dead Island Riptide. This only single thing that stood out as good for me was how the implemented hand to hand weapon combat. The only thing.

I was out of gaming for some time and there were many titles I had seen glimpses of and thought 'oh hell, I would like to play that!' For a couple of years now the graphics on TV have looked stunning but once I got back into it it was not quite as good as I thought it looked. Sure it looked good but not quite as good. I remember Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3 I think it was advertised on TV. A large building was collapsing in a warzone and I thought 'Oh my word! Look at what they are doing now?!' I imagine if I bought that it would not look as good as I thought it would.

Then there are many other things that I thought with the amount of time I had taken in my sabbatical that would be overcome. Well I am both pleased to say that they have and sad to say that only by very few titles.

Still my PC is ready and geared to play the wave of next generation titles and I am sure that much of that will be history? Fingers crossed.

Just the other day I receieved a copy of Call Of Juarez Gunslinger and I was just too interested due to it being better looking that the original and had to see what it was like. Annoyingly for an old title I had to pay double what I paid for err Skyrim, certainly New Vegas. I did not get double the game in any shape or form.

Upon starting a new game I liked the look and it was so similar to Riptide in looks, assuming here its the same Chrome Engine 5? I also immediately realised it was way better looking and had better guns and added to this none of the guns were exploding in my hands after 6 shots! Did they even bother to watch films of the wild west?

Unfortuanately a few things raised their ugly heads and what I thought was going to be a game that I would personally have given 90% too then started to fall apart at the seams. Oh dear.

Now since I got back into gaming and before long something came up in a title that had me scratching my head, remember I am a PC gamer here, among other things. Many...other things. I cannot remember which one it was but there was this annoying bit at the beginning, in a ship I think it was, where I had to press these sequences of keys that bared no resemblance at all to what was going on. I was almost lobbing my desktop at the window at drowning repeatedly before wondering why on the eleventy millionth attempt I wondered why the letter 'E' was being presented to me? Or was it 'W'? Anyhoo I pressed it and then another letter was appearing on the screen and pressed that one. After a sequence of this utterly confusing as well as totally pointless key presses I was through and out.

My intital thought was 'what the feck was that all about?!'

Well it not only returned in Gunslinger but imagine how annoyed I was that it came up repeatedly? Aim and shoot. Aim and shoot. Aim and shoot. Are we there yet? Where on a gun does it have buttons for automatically spining around and hitting four or five targets placed all around you automtaically? More to the point where would it have this on a mid ninetennth century Colt?

Simulation, realism and physics most certainly do not seem to be Techlands strng points, quite the opposite in fact.

Also letting the game down once again was this artifical intelligence of the bad guys. Well there was not any and once again physics takes a back seat position in one of their games. I was being faced with ever harder fighters who simply moved faster, to the point of completely inhuman and not even on the hardest setting!

It is like the either gradually get stoned during coding their games or get stoned towards the end? I have also seen bullets that go through rockets and bad guys with not only X-Ray vision but bullets that hit you behind a rock when you cannot hit them after coming out from behind one?!

What?! Really?!

I find the situation with PC gaming in a position where it looks an absolute joke in all honesty, half arsed ideas meant for youg kids that will not think anything of it.

It would not be half as bad were it not for the fact that Call Of Juarez Gunslinger is a 'budget' title and yet despite being an old game was twice the price of both New Vegas and Tchlands own Riptide?! Weird.

The bloody even more bizarre thing about it is that like Riptide it has flashes of pure brilliance inb a mish-mash of a mess with pure shit too! Such a shame it really is. Had it not been for the bad points listed and some I have yet to this could have been one hell of a classic.

Another no-no is that when your going to make someone go fecking mental by making hit those bloody keys in a sequence, which you end up having to do at some point otherwise you WILL die, do not then change the bloody sequence proving it has no bearing on realism and so you could not be arsed! Do not, I repeat, do NOT then go and half double the amount of bad guys to shoot through just when you think you are out of it and in need of a sharp intake of breath?! Are you fecking nuts?! I mean that seriously, are you nuts or do you just get stoned all the time in Poland? I mean do what you want but do not put things in your own games that will bring it down to earth after first looking like a classic.

I mean if you possessed the absolute perfect body and looks along with a gun you would not go and shoot yourself in the chest and the face, would you?

It is like these are for kids and they just go, 'Oh whack it [badly port] over to PC as is because we want to get paid more for doing the same nothing'?

What rattles my cage on this is the fact that they all focus on tha same damn titles these days and its become such a joke that they even have the same bad guys in different titles! No?

Which leads me onto the fact that the only outfit who bothered to do a western is now solely focused on zombies?! Oh now I wonder why that is?!

What is annoying about that is that if Techland ever got their heads out of their arses and sorted out the physics, baby buttons, articial intelligence and open world maps the next Call Of Juarez could have been something truly great expecially if next generation graphics, Chrome Engine 6 and not 5.

Its like a start up outfit thought they would get notice by doing something not only different but no on has done and once accepted lets now all just do what everyone else is doing, zombies?!

Still it could be worse? It could be bloody vampires! Lol!

There are also other majopr issues with their coding but I am not going to get into it, I think that I have mentioned is enough.

But I am, however, left scratching my head as to what is going on in the gaming world and why certain things are being allowed to carry on?

I have a blog on corruption, oddly my most popular thius far. In that blog I gather up evidence of corruption via very elaborate and intricate plans along with some clever gadget use of different types that gets me evidence. Evidence of some very shocking people of each area of professionals who swore oaths lying through their teeth and breaking these oaths...repeatedly and over many years.

Now what I found in all that, and believe me I was looking for it as I suspected as such, was where were those groups known as governing bodies and ombudsmen? There were dozens of these groups doing quite literally feck all but each one consuming tens of millions of £'s if not hundreds of millions of £'s each year of the public's hard earned taxes.

So what I did was one by one I approached them with claims and they did nothing after promising to and then twisting what they said. I then told them I had hgard evidence and they wriggled out of it again and some even stated that their job was actually for something else entirely?! I kid you not. I knew that they would not believe that one man with a disability and a memory problem, that one of the corrupt public services kept me from finding out about for over ten years, could not possibly have done the things I did.

I then kept repeatedly doing that for a number of years and am still doing it right now...with all of them, bar the ambulance and fire service all others are in the frame and still so.

Now what somew of them have realised very recently is that I have indeed not only done as I claimed but I did it repeatedly so so for instance with the NHS I have a long list of General Practitioners at it as well as five separate hospitals.

To get you to focus on that not being just talk, as I simply do not do just talk, is that I did this for several years before starting the blog in August 2012. I had plenty to publish already and did so. many have both used and thanked me for what I have done, inlcuding even a Vicar. In January of 2013 I was asked by a backbench Labour Member of Parliament, Michael Meacher, if he could use my blog data to argue with Iain Duncan-Smith in the House of Commons andf also send items to the news media.

Since I gave him permission to do that almost two years have passed by. That is two more years of me collecting data. What data? Oh just video, secretly recorded audio they keep telling me now is illegal and I tell them to take me to court then, documentation going back twenty years, screen-shots and all manner of other things.

Why did I do it? Because I have a history that reads like a horror novel and as a result of the covering up and lies to save money my daughter had a horrific childhood. There are court cases presently and there will be more you can rest assured on that. As well as this I just got fed up of the constant bullshit and lies while being shafter over by a bunch of people that seemed to think that being over paid to do feck all is their birth right.

I realised and decided that the only way that I was ever going to stop it was to confront all of it and them at once. This is what i did and what I have been doing and still do. My blog shows that I predicted a great many things long before they happened, like the recession for instance.Now I feel like I am paying for things that for twenty years I told them would happen and now made to feel like its my fault. I did not vote for them so its not.

Then when I see the weird prices and the half arsed coding and porting and I see long lists of gamers feeling like they were ripped off and lied to along the way and I think...

'Hmm, maybe I should have looked into the governing body of software?' Lol!

To be honest many would say that it would seem impossible, considering what I have proved I did do on my corruption blog, to fit any more in. But considering many of my over paid and humungous victims arer appearing in the TV News on a weekly basis I do not think I have much more to accomplish?

I currently have seven, thought I had six...did state I have a bad memory, plans in motion...or at least they will be if I can remember to print out the reports and send them all off in the post. These will just unfold all on their own and each reach the TV News media all on their own.

Besides that I have taught 100,000 people to do what I have done and this increses by over 10,000 per month.

So yeah, maybe at some point I may look into the so-called governing bodies about both software and games? After all I for one think its unfair to wait until others go ahead and waste their cash before finding out that £40 to £50 game, more in some instances, is a pile of crap! Don't get me wrong, I do do that! I just also think its wrong but gamers, well some of them, seems to give the only reviews you can trust?

Ooh that reminds me! I might like into the ombudsman and governing bodies for magazines too as I have several bones laying around here, believe me!

RIPPING CRAP OUT OF FARCRY 3

What an absolute piece of trash!

I am sorry but I was enjoying this title but I am afraid to say that design wise of the missions they musty have held a competition for someone to design them and a village idiot must have won?!

The first time I was knocked unconscious was bad enough! You go around with the greatest stealth and then a effing cut scene where someone waiting around a corner knocks you out with the butt of his gun when you have just laid waste to dozens of men?!

Are you for chuffing real?

I let that slide.

But now it goes and happens a second time and yet where the first time you mysteriously still have your weapons the second time you are not?! Best of all is your opening up the back of an RV vehicle you have just been battling with, so your expecting bad guys with guns, and you get taken out yet again?!

It gets worse!

For those that have played it when I emerged from the waterfall and did a take down of a guy mysteriously guarding it for some unfathomable reason half the time that watery vision became stuck and despite emerging from the water with no effing guns the watery vision remained! So bloody frustrating was this that I tried exiting to the menus and back again, no luck. Ran all the way through unnoticed right up the the helicopter, but still looking like I have a bucket of water running over my face each second!

Even on the occasions whereby it did clear I kept running out of ammo despite killing half a dozen people alongh the way and always got killed by either the guy with the jeep mounted gun or one of those armoured guys standing next to the helicopter?!

I spent an hour at this! Same old shit each timne and quite how they came up with these idiotic ideas that out of the blue completely ruins a game I have no effing idea!

What a bunch of morons!

Well I can assure you that the urge to purchase FarCry 4 the day it is released has evaporated away to nothing. What a load of shite! How in the world did they possibly think this enhances the game?! How in the world did they manage to have their biggest bug in the game happen at not only the hardest point thus far but also the most frustrating and the only point in the game where you have no weapons whatsoever?!

God, I cannot remember a time when I was frustrated with a game. I think I would have to go back to my teenage years which would be 30 years ago!

The weird thing is I read in a magazine, PC gamer I think it was, of how annoying the first section where you get knocked out was but they failed to mention being knocked out a second time?! Nor did they make any remarks about you losing your weapons and your eyesight in a really difficult part of the game?! Oh and I hate it when they give you these time restricted sections too! I just been chucked into a chuffing well with no weapons and I have five minutes to get out, take out several guys, avoid a barrage a snipers then take out several more guys a truck mounted gun, a walking tank and a fecking helicopter?!

I think Crytek are made up of alcholics because they must have been fecking pissed that day?!

I was so incenced at that section I snapped and immediately wanted to come onto my computing blog and rant off about it. I have worked my way through all three of Bethesda's latest titles and not once did I feel the need to rant off.

I think they should give out awards for the dumbest cut scenes and dumbest time restricted sequences. Make them with a ball figure on to represent games so they have a pair of balls!

This was a page talking about how it was a sin to have sections knock out a player for a cut scene ... USE FUCKING RADIOS FOR DIALOGUE!! Or PHONES!!

Also and using the exact same magazine as an example, as there are precious few on PC gaming these days ... err or only one lol, I am going to post up a link to e review, or preview, to a game I am unfamiliar with called Wasteland 2. I know nothing of this title and its not the kind of title that interests me really, top down view strategy ... err thingy! No the point is that a reviewer that has not really done his homework gets caned in the comments by people who obviously know there stuff!

Now I have said it before and I will say it again and again and again until those that should know better start to know better.

Magazines have rocketed in price and I can remember them hitting £2.00 each and thinking that was a great deal. Then they upped a fair bit with the costs of the cover CDs being the excuse. then they did again with the costs of DVDs being the excuse. They they got thinner ... and thinner. Today They have surpassed some books with their cover prices and this is ridiculous!

Once upon a time there was PC Zone ... umm something else or two along with PC Gamer, lol! I definately bought three pc gaming magazines years ago and may have been a fourth. Now their is just one!

Now despite their being just one you will see a comment about how someone used to subscribe to the magazine but wont do it anymore ...

... this only comes down to one thing! Distrust!

I have seen it over and over and over again and I see things written about products that are quite bizarre and sometimes its obvious that they have not fully tested something as they insinuate or are just waxing lyrical to the point that your reaching for a bucket to hurl into?!

I have stated aplenty that reviewers have harped on like banshees about how if your a 'proper' gamer you need to own an Intel CPU that costs twice as much as an AMD APU that has that has a part of the chip which is mean for gaming to be completely useless?! Oh? Right!

Despite the Kaveri version of their APU coming out and much testing done they still harp on about this and yet I realised that in many reviewers it was clear that did not understand the hardware at all. This was because I could see the details from the benchmarks and yet they did not.

For me this came to a head when I saw a guy who has a YouTube channel reviewing PC gear who setup a small form factor PC using an AMD Kaveri and plopped in different graphics cards right up to a R9-290 and even he was surprised at the framerates.

That one video showed me that not only was I correct in my assumptions but that a great many people claiming to know about this stuff were wrong.

Now thisd only occured recently and yet I was not automatically buying magazines like I used to by spotting articles on hardware, or games, I was interested in and walking to the counter to pay. No I started to first thumb through them and if I read the first paragraph or two and they still talk bullshit I put it back and walk away.

Now I am not saying that this reviewer for PC Gamer is guilty of this as like I stated I know nothing of the title they were referring to. But as it was called Wasteland I thought it might be something along the lines of a game called Fallout, of which I have played two titles, but with better graphics and weapons? It is not an first person perspective so it was not. However the reviewer made some references to things being copied from Fallout that it turned out were not. He then tried to defend his remarks and several people corrected him and one even stated that "you do not know what you are talking about".

This is a prime example of those selling something, or someone in power as I talk about on my ever more popular corruption blog, treating the general public like idiots and then speaking to them as such. Like Ombudsman they get chatted up and flattered by those that they are reporting on or items they are reviewing and turn into their bitches, for want of a better term? Lackeys, if you prefer.

What amazes me is it does them no favours whatsoever and in fact they are trading long term profit, or careers, for larger short term gains. Out of these two the former is greater than the latter. Even if they are not guilty of doing this then making wrong statements will make them look like they are at times. In the case of this reviewer the publishers of Fallout are far bigger than that of this Wasteland title and it could be perceived that they are tying to do the Fallout publishers favours by not giving an honest review?

Of course at other times it can be more directly obvious.

WHOSE REVIEWS DO YOU TRUST?!

I have reffered to magazines and their odd and sometimes quite bizarre reviews so many times it is silly.

But I was looking about tonight when I found a round up of reviews for smart phones that is on the website of my btothers old favourite magazine What Hifi.

Curiously I spotted a problem straight away and then when reading the comments I saw someone state the same thing and someone else who I think may have been a bit sarcastic.

Now the link is provided below but this includes two phones, one being Apple's iPhone and the other being my new phone the Moto G. I also noted somewhere, may or may not be on this page, of an insinuation to Google's Android OS.

1) They praise the Nexus for its price yet omit the Moto G while having its big brother the Moto X despite the G baing available long before the 'X'?! They even state the G as launching late last year!

2) Once again someone praises the latest Apple iPhone and yet after moaning about plastic phones then praise the plastic iPhone C?!

3) I read also, might have been on here, when speaking about the Nokia X they state 'for people getting bored of Android OS'?!

Now as for number one, sorry guys but this is madness and no excuses here! I have been looking at the Moto G for months in Tescos and I was well aware of the Moto X but was also aware that this was not coming to the UK. That is until only very recently!! SO how you include one and not the other only means one thing to me!

Number two has my old firneds Apple and I am sorry but I am afraid that if their was an OS that not only people can get bored with quickly and has been shown to be actually happening it is iOS. You also mention the audio and I can tell you that IF it is as good as you say then they must have made some major changes from the iPhone 4S, which I have, to this one?! Also they must have removed the limitations to the audio volue too, which is bizarre because I know not of a single handset sold within the EU that does not have this?! One commenter even states the same as I do and remarks that you need to use a FIIO amplifier which is EXACTLY what I had to do! On its own the audio quality of the iPhone 4S was noticebly dreadful with certain, and I include EXPENSIVE to the tune of £150, headphones!!

Umm you are What Hifi are you not?!

As for Android, to remark about anyone getting 'bored' with it can only mean one thing and that is people have been having the exact same issues I have had?! Yes I could fully understand that and it is good to finally read this if only in insinuation! But oh my word if your referring to the look and feel then I am sorry...you must have taken a great deal of money to even INCLUDE APPLE in this list?!

Now yes I have seen people totally ruin the Android OS and the top name for Android phones that did this too! This was Samsung and I know three people who have hated the Samsung Galaxy S4 interface and I did not like it either! But when I read someone say the things that I read about ANdroid being boring I can only think they only tested one phones and that was the Samsung Galaxy, which would not be the correct thing to do.

The odd thing is that my business, or a large part of it al la this blog, has been gadgets and my BSc Single Honours Degree is in Applied Computing and I have managed to buy some very nice things for an unbeliebably small amount of money that are not featured at all and at best only get a mention?!

Funny this?!?!

Now I own an Advent Tegra Note and I have had issues with it! Yes the border/bezel could be thinner and make it look even better but for the price you cannot do better! I have had several of them fail and the faults with mine nearly forced me to take mine back thinking my device was faulty. However I have since realised that not only is this down to Google and the fact they now seem to have systematically destroyed Android but the very glaringly nad faults have persisited through 4 versions of Android too?!

After locating the LG G Pad as mr replacement in the end I could not do it! This is because it is a very good handset for the money. Also rather bizarrely reviewers stated it was ugly but it not only looked like a giant HTC ONE phone but many people commented on this too! What is weird is they stated it was ugly and yet the phone it looks like is always stated to be gorgeous?! One of my brothers spent an enture day thinking my tablet WAS INDEED a HTC after I joked about it and then had to correct himm to his surprise.

Yes I can tell you now if they made an 8 inch one but kept it at the same size and design, therefore maling the black border thinner and vetter looking with a higher resolution screen, it has 1280x800, and made the case a bit more solid or better still aluminium then I would certainly buy one! In fcat I would go as far as saying that with these little changes, maybe silver versions too, you would have quite possibly the best tablet on the market!

Now one thing I would be looking out for is if they did this later in the year but with nVidias next Tegra chip called the K1 I have been speaking about and a 64Bit chip too!

SO yes it does have a few little drawbacks but as I bought three of them from PC World for £310 in total I really cannot see how you could recommend anything else. I also checked the compute power of everything else out and really only the eight core Samsung Tablet at £550 was noticebly more powerful but noticeably more ugly.

That is another thing too, even when the Samsung Galaxy S2 was out every raved about its looks but I thought it was butt ugly and each they bought out a new one I was hoping I would like it. They did manage to improve it a great deal but for me the HTC's Moto X and Sony, yup I said Sony, XPeria Z are all better looking. I would even go as far as saying that the Apple. yup I did say Apple, iPhone 5S, not the C, is alot better looking. Until you switch on the OS's that is and it all falls apart for Apple!

But then I wonder if this is how reviewers decide about the looks of a phone or tablet?! Do they do it with the screen on so that those that have a Retina Class screen or better instantly has them typing out the model name?! In this case only LG's latest Nexus tablet at £200 and all others a fair bit more expensive will likely all look good. For me the LG G2 and Tablet G Pad are two good looking devices and only then and HTC's are better than the ones I currently own.

Now I own the Moto G 8GB which I did not mind because I had the Tegra Note 7 tablet with 16GB pf memory and a 32GB Sandisk Ultra SD Card! Meaning the large games and many others are all on the tablet, or the entertainment. I also have office suites on there too which I also have on the Moto G with only small apps and I have not run out of space as yet. I also have 50GB of cloud storage which is free for two years! This you get with the Moto G's but I am not sure about the Moto X.

In other words I do wish these bloody magazines would pull their fingers out and stop doing whatever it is they obviously are doing!

Once upon a time I could rely on a number of magazines or TV programs like the Gadget Show covering all that is available but in all honesty quite often they do not even reach half way there! Only 3 7 inch tablets were reviewed on the Gadget Show and I thought 'THREE?! JUST THREE?! Are you fecking serious?!" LMAO!!  checked out a few Windows tablets, likely 3, Anroid tablets by HP, Asus, Acer, Lenovo, Sony, Samsung, LG before buying the Advent Vega Tegra Note. Now there are at least TWELVE Android tablets I looked at and as I type I remembered that Maplin has about 3 and then you have the iPad Air and Mini?! So therefore you have over 20 tablets and yet with all the money they have to spare and all the prizes they somehow give away the gadget show only found a measly three?

Now that was not very informative and that is putting it politely and understating it a fair old amount!

EDIT: Oh yes I forgot, raise the RAM memory of which the 1GB it had may be behind some issues. Do not bother with 2GB as I have seen the first devices listed with 3GB.

Hmm there was something else I thought of too but it's gone but another could be that if they went with aluminium backed ones for perhaps a premium device they could keep that back design odd hour glass by making a ridge of rubber that the device would then lay on whether this is on its back or up against something?!

1) Yes increase screen size by an inch while keeping the size to make black border smaller.

2) Increase screen resolution to at least retina class.

3) Increase RAM to 3GB.

4) Tegra K1 64 Bit

With those specs on the same design and I very much doubt I would look at anything else?! Except if they did a 9 inch one!!

Oh yes and if they and all the other manufacturers kicked Google up the arses over losing simple texts in their OS?!
