MY FOREHEAD HURTS - RYZEN
Many, many people still making idiot mistakes, still quoting stuff like they know what they are talking about and still quoting crap that is simply not the case at all. All the cues are there already but for some reason people are blind to them.
Let us take one simple comment I saw on Tom's Hardware in the Ryzen 1700X review I have seen over and over again elsewhere ...
Some people have correctly stated that more cores will be needed in gaming in the future while naysayers without the intellect have stated that this will be years away ... if ever?!
If ever ... I just love some of these statements.
Games are coded based on what the mainstream is .. not the top end so sorry to all those that base, ,and even buy, everything on the top end. It is just simple economics.
Everyone has been purchasing Intel 4 core CPU's, that may or may not be hyper-threaded, and have done for years and simply because 6 and 8 core CPUs were not worth it if you were just gaming.
Right now two things are happening and the first is that the 8 core Ryzen's have been selling ... a lot. You also cannot base things on what your bloody friends do or say ... gaming is a global thing. The second thing is that more and more gamers are streaming and so much so that even Google and YouTube are trying to cater for those that want to stream there games.
That is two very good reasons for the Ryzen 7's and games being coded for more than four cores already and before I get to the next and best reason of all...
Every single rumour out there, forgetting the fact that gaming consoles already use 8 cores, is stating that the up and coming XBox Scorpio is going to use Ryzen cores as well as a Vega GPU.
That was Ryzen cores.
Did no one notice how quick game developers came out and said that they were both excited and working with Ryzen in mind? Did no one realise why this was?
Yeah ... when consoles are on their way they already have games being coded for them, which is why there is always a few titles available at launch. The Nintendo Switch not withstanding. Which only had two ... or one and a quarter from the sounds of it?
The XBox Scorpio is supposed to be coming out this year, 2017, and before the end of the year and we are already a few months into this year. Games do not get coded in a few months, not even indie bloody titles, lol.
Which likely means that games are already well into development for Ryzen.
Though none of this matters to myself personally.
I do not build a PC to play games on with three year old titles in mind and nor have I ever and nor will I ever do this. I really do not see how anyone does ... unless they are these die hard fanboys for old titles that just keep on playing them, not matter what.
The only game in recent memory that had me play through it far more than any other is Alien Isolation. Played through that around 6 times and the next closest title to that was three times and Call Of Juarez Gunslinger. The first was over atmosphere and the latter because playing it on its hardest setting, no cross-hairs at all, was a fun challenge. So fun I did it twice, lol.
As much as I loved, ,and completed, games like Skyrim, Fallouts, Dragon Age Inquisition and The Witcher 3 ... I have never been tempted to play them again. With the exception of Deus Ex Human Revolution that was far shorter than those others so did not mind going through it two, might have been three, times.
But I will get excited about the future RPG's along with other titles ... if they look good though of late that looking good a year or so before launch has not amounted to much. Despite all the raving about nVidia's latest GPUs, pre 1080 and 1070.
If things go according to plan I am building a Ryzen PC with a Vega card in a couple of months time when Vega is released. This might now get pushed back a little because of the news that a 12 and 16 core Ryzen might be coming. Something I thought would happen if I am honest but as there was absolutely no talk about this, or foresight, ,from any of the tech professionals I thought it was not going to happen.
I should know better than to ignore my instincts based on what tech journalists are or are not talking about!
Whether I go this route for more than 8 physical cores I am not sure right now. It would all rather depend somewhat on clockspeeds as well as RAM speed scaling, as is being noted with Ryzen 7.
Despite the whiners as well as those speaking about things they do not have the intellect to speak of I for one am very happy with what AMD have released. Because for the next 3 to 5 years things are going to be extremely interesting. Not 'might be' but 'will be'.
I thought it would be good to get on the AM4 platform as the next iterations of Ryzen should be pretty good. New node and new architecture alone are two areas where things will improve.
In all honesty the only negative point right now is the dual core RAM and the PCI-E lanes, though I am not entirely sure this is an issue. AS unlike so many armchair experts I cannot see into the future and am not sure whether those PCI-E lanes of 16x will be swamped by the next generation of cards?
Dual channel RAM is not really an issue as long as its frequency keeps increasing but will it get to a point whereby it cannot be increased? Which means to feed data faster you have no choice but to go quad channel, at which point you need a new motherboard.
But if a new motherboard is not need until, say, Zen 4, for arguments sake, and this is 3 years or more away then ... it is a non issue.
Oh I also find it hilarious that every single person that states that Ryzen is NOT a gaming CPU, even the ones trying to make excuses for it. Really?! I mean, REALLY?!
I wonder if they then go and play games on an XBox or a Playstation at 30 frames per second after hitting that return button and stating that Ryzen is not a gaming CPU because 140 frames and not 180 frames per second.
Now if I was a dedicated console owner I would get pretty irate at all these snobs going on about differences of ten or even twenty frames per second when there close to or above 100 frames per second by a fair old margin.
In fact I am amazed that console owners have not ripped into these people just yet.
I also mentioned about optimisations of current and slightly older games in a recent post on AMD's Ryzen? Yeah ... do not really care about that either ... unless it happens to be a game that I will go back to AND it is getting less than 40fps minimum.
Why?! Unless you are MMO'ing and doing it for money ... just, WHY?!
I also find it hilarious that everyone is scrambling to get Ryzen 5's performance metrics from Ryzen 7's, lol. Really?!
Oh dear.
You might get it right, you have a 50/50 chance, or you might get it wrong but you have no way of knowing. That is NOT, however, what some of them are stating. The are stating that they have tested by switching off cores and stating this is what will happen. I do not know and I do not care as outside of going for a 6 core Ryzen I have no interest.
I am aware, however, that there is no way of knowing how the cores will overclock and no way of knowing how the shared cache memory will make a difference. Will there be more cache memory available to cores because the other cores that would otherwise share this memory are no there? Or would it be that it remains the same depending on how cores are switched off, or failed in the production process? Who knows? I presently do not and I am damn sure no one else does.
Buuut ... if they get it right and there is no difference watch how all of them that predicted no change will crow about it, which will likely lead to irate people telling them to feck off and go and design CPU's as they are obviously engineers? Lol.
I get so annoyed when I read some of the comments. Hands over my face with my uttering "Oooh for the love of God, man!" Lol.
I am doing something I find funny ... I am going to hold off buying a laptop until they come out with Ryzen APU's. I do not bloody know why? Lol.
Well I have always been aware that despite all the crap everyone talks about then CPUs come out they fail to see that ... if something is faster in just one single thing then anything else that is slower comes down to a software issue.
Sorry but that's it and that's all.
If it was a hardware issue then it would show in every single thing tested and I imagine that, without bothering to go back and check, this would be the case with AMD's previous bulldozers. Not quite as bad as everyone made out but clearly slower in everything ... CLOCK FOR CLOCK.
This is not the case with Ryzen and so things are very, very different.
Yet I have very literally and a long time ago lost count of the number of remarks like "AMD has failed again" and "It is bulldozer all over again". Oooh boy, oh boy.
There is an old saying ... you cannot see the wood for the trees.
If you want to remain blind then go and be blind. Do NOT go around on the Internet trying to blind others because .. the Internet is NOT forgiving and it may come back to bite you in the arse?
EDIT: Oh and some so called tech journalists and reviewers might want to seriously change their tone too ... because what I hear a lot is "Oooh Ryzen was supposed to be sooo good at gaming and it is SOOOO NOOOT!"
Your giving out the wrong impression, maybe intentionally without having to actually state it, when that is simply NOT the case at all.
I for one never expected ANY Ryzen CPU to beat out the fastest Intel CPU on any level ... but it has or come close on all of them.
I expected 35% improvement but hoped they, AMD, were being honest when they stated a 40% improvement and we got over 50% improvement. It has worked out better than I had hoped so I actually find all of the negativity somewhat surprising, if I am perfectly honest.

THE BLOWING OF MINDS - E3
What do you mean it is not over yet? Cap'n ... I simply cannae take no more! Lol!
Stunning ...
Hmm now let me see ... wanted to type this out before I leave my house. Now ... notes.
I did not watch the PC Gaming show and I will at some stage, probably tonight or tomorrow, but I did read about it. Someone reported it was a bit slow but to be honest how much more could have actually been revealed that was not already?!
That is exactly what I am thinking about the remainder of the E3 spectacle.
Games
Fallout 4 ... obviously
Dishonoured 2 ... pleasingly surprisingly
Dishonoured Definitive Edition ... eyebrow raisingly
Need For Speed ... promisingly
Mass Effect Andromeda ... looking better than Dragon Age Inquisition surprisingly
Ghost Recon Wildlands ... shockingly double time as it did not really look like Ghost Recon, lol
Star Wars Battlefront ... gorgeously but with a few unsure bits (Tie Fighters and X-Wings)
Rise Of The Tomb Raider ... beautifully and assuming it has to come to PC at some stage
Deus Ex Mankind Divided ... What? Where? Who am I? What am I doing on the floor?!
Call Of Duty Black Ops 3 ... surprisingly
Uncharted 4 ... the most interesting of the console games you hope hits the PC but probably never will!
Assassins Creed Syndicate ... because they finally make a game based in a city that is not America ... err or Paris, Rome ... umm was it Rome? Probably Florence. OK, OK they finally make a games set in London!
Rainbow Six Seige ... looks great but I am turned off currently by on-line only games of battle arenas and co-ops
Hmm now I am sure I am forgetting some ... ahh but then I have a perfect excuse for that.
Now for the ones, the notable ones, that were missing, some of which I strongly suspect will appear at next years E3 ...
Elder Scrolls 6
Splinter Cell
Half Life 3 (I am only going on this repeatedly being mentioned by the gaming community I never expected a third after Steam got going!)
And the rest ...
AMD and their Radeon Fury graphics cards along with that shocking double Radeon Fury gaming system toted as being 'the thing' for 4K gaming?!
OK, this was a shock on a number of levels ...
Just the other day I had the only brother I have that is heavily into gaming. I do have another into gaming but he is more the casual shooter and last I checked was on the PS3, though admittedly that was a while ago and I never even thought about the last Christmas.
One of the topics that we covered was graphics cards and he has a nVidia 970 Strix currently and I explained everything I knew about the Radeon Fury and 300 series cards. I stated that yes the 300's were being panned as rebrands but at least the silcone, or I read this wrong, is improved.
I am assuming, and betting, that there is enough difference of a number to number card to make them quicker while more energy efficient at least.
Then we spoke about 4K gaming and I stated how bad things are reported. I basically said ...
"Look how the magazines and reviewers have raved about the R9-290's and now the nVidia 970 and 980 but then all of a sudden you mention 4K and 4K monitors and it all goes tits-up?! Suddenly these amazingly wonderful cards are not that powerful. Funny as I remember graphics cards generations jumping up a resolution each or every other release"
Back in the days when it was all letters referring to any given resolution. I can remember when gaming at 1600x1200 seemed like a distant or impossible dream.
Now we have had a series of generations all gaming at 1920x1080 and then 4K monitors arrive and it all falls apart.
To read that you need two Radeon Fury GPUs to game at 4K was a shock even for me. Surely not? GPUs that are as fast as most nVidia Titan cards and considerably more powerful that the R9-290s and R9-280s, I have the later as a stop gap, and one on its own cannot cut it?!
That was the biggest shock of the machine they announced, good God I cannot remember if they gave it a name?! Lol!
Still there are some plus points to take from all this ...
Firstly it might not seem to be there but it is almost there and you can bet that some refining of the latest GPUs will take place over the next 6 months to a year?
Secondly and as much as they like to harp on about 4K gaming ... and what it looks like ... sorry but nothing out there or likely to come out in the next 6 months is coded with 4K in mind.
The next step up in resolution allows for much finer detail to be displayed on-screen. The fact that all PC games are 1080p and that the PS4 has only been out a bit over a year, I think it is, and this is 1080p and the Xbox One arguably is then no, they wont be for awhile yet.
In fact it is highly likely that other than PC only titles ... err are there any ... other than Star Citizen that is not out, you would have to wait until the PS5 and XBox TWO before they were mainstream.
As I think the previous generation consoles were on the market for 7 years before the next generation appeared ... well, that could be a hell of a wait?
Which leads me onto what I said to my brother...these days, quite why anyone would shell out a £1,000 for a graphics card that is way over the top, consumes an incredible amount of energy to give you little or no difference from a card half the price is beyond me.
I wonder if reviewers will continue to rave about each card up until one comes out capable of 4K gaming? LMAO!
Oh yes and I nearly forgot ... there was that remark about the double Fury machine handling the Virtual Reality Headsets?! I am assuming they were speaking about 4K VR Headsets?! LMAO!
Maybe I will wait for the next generation Google Cardboard ... hopefully it will be Google ... Carbon?! LMAO!
Still it is an exciting time and I still am of the belief that now that all three platforms are so similar to code for when it comes to gaming that this means that the PC versions will come out far better looking than there console counterparts? All the extra time coding ... umm porting from old machines can be cut by half and the other half adding graphical extras?
Well the excuses are gone, if nothing else.
It is a shame they did not add a port to the consoles where you could plug in a small graphics card to up the graphics power after a couple of years. After all Sony had a flagship laptop, ohh carbon again, that you plugged in a box to containing a more powerful graphics card into to play games. I seriously wanted that laptop! This feature would have certainly helped the XBox One and the resolution wars.
Still it will be very interesting to see what the next 18 months brings!
I was interested in the building aspect of Fallout 4. The game looks absolutely fine to me and I simply cannot wait! I was in my local game store yesterday when a member of staff asked if I needed help and I said only with the impatience to Fallout 4 coming out. He laughed and said he had ordered the special edition that comes with the Pip-Boy. Lucky bleeder! Lol!
I might look into doing that though it is something I do not normally do, I have to admit.
Nice to know the dog in Fallout 4 will not die every five minutes and I have to go back to a previous saved game to save his arse. Nice to know they are using the same game engine too! Not sure if using a different engine would change it too much so that it did not feel like Fallout any more?
If there are any naysayers left as regards Fallout 4 after E3 ... well ... I simply will not know what to say!
The thing is that what I think is if they are showing you actual gaming footage for something appearing on three separate platforms then your going to see the average look anyway. Now I would imagine that with most games, Fallout and Elder Scrolls especially, will look better than that which they showed when it comes to the PC version.
That is the drawback with being honest, you will have to show the look of the game to be expected across all three platforms...while we as PC gamers will likely get to knock the graphics up a notch or two. Hopefully but then I was OK with the graphics anyway but I would welcome more in the way of settings, sure enough.
So, yeah. I do not understand the naysayers.
Lol.
An interesting 12 months ahead, this is for sure and maybe now I wont have to skip copies of PC Gamer because there simply is not enough in their I want to read about?
Here's hoping.

THE WITCHER HOURS
Several weeks back something I have worked upon and waited upon for twenty years was coming to an end. Only it was only coming to one end. It was also not playing out how I thought it would.
So plans were delayed a couple of weeks.
This is how I ended up buying Dying Light.
I hated the fact I could not get a physical copy of Dying Light and I hate that.
Anyhoo I thoroughly enjoyed this game, even its precarious, head spinning and frustrating moments but after a couple of weeks playing it actually started to get boring. Oddly enough I had only had my favourite weapon of choice a few days to a week when I started to get bored.
It was samey and become monotonous. Because you were always retreading the same old ground and the maps were confusing enough that you could not get any decent free-running runs down without making a mistake or turning the wrong way.
Also, despite their claim to this being 'the one' they had always wanted there was something else missing too which others have long since done...there were no animals.
If your going to claim to create a realistic environment then you should actually do this correctly before claiming daft things like that. Even with a zombie plague going on you would see domestic animals in a city or town milling around along with whatever wild mammals, birds and other things besides. I remember seeing fish while swimming, well at least they included that, and thinking 'oh god! There are animals in this game!'
Anyhoo it became boring but was damn fun for a time.
I went back to Dragon Age Inquisition for odd plays but this had also become boring too and I was only playing an hour or so every other day or three.
In the last few days I was looking at reviews for a game that was just about to be released. They surprised me no end. The game was getting scores of a minimum of 90% and mostly higher?! Even more surprising was that a few claimed this game was the best game ever made or best Role-Playing Game, RPG, ever made?!
Yet I swore I would not by this purely because of the previous two games!
I am speaking, of course, of The Witcher series by CD Projekt Red.
Would have gone down as classic games in their own right were it not for the immensely annoying moments when the games ground to a halt and refused to budge or move forward. At all! For weeks and even months at a time. This was how it was for me.
Also with games there is the sense of exploration and wonder. No one has ever done this as well as Skyrim. Unless your an idiotic bufoon.
Travelling to new areas resulted in new things to discover, new creatures to find and fight against and in these areas and as well as the storyline and scenery there was the LOOT!
In both Elder Scrolls and Fallout, well the last three titles in those series, got all these things bang on the money. Above all else that was captivating and interesting in its own right there was the excitement of finding a new favourite sword or bow. Though sword fighting in Skyrim was not great and I always used a longbow, I just have a thing for longbows and do not get me started! Lol!
I saw Dragon Age Inquisitions use of loot as both pointless and utterly boring.
[BLOODY HELL! NOT SEEN ANYTHING INSTALL LIKE THIS BEFORE?!]
Hmm that was something not mentioned in any of the reviews!
My bloody word, reviewers today! Where in the hell do they find these people?!
The game just stopped installing, I noticed by no drive sounds, and it was asking for a long winded in name file that was number '3' when I only had in disk '1'?! Suddenly thought it had played up and something had gone horribly wrong but I placed disk '2' in my BD drive and there it was ... file '3'!
Now why on Earth did it not just ask for disk '2'?
It almost seemed like I was installing a cracked game. Not that I would know about such things! Well not since my skint Amiga days anyway, lol.
Anyhoo ... yes the loot in Dragon Age's latest is truly terrible and boring beyond your imagination. You find the same old crap stuff that is no where near the stuff you have time after time. Your constantly crouching to pick up tons of stuff you use up at the rate of knots that shows nothing in the way of altering the game. There is an inordinate amount of time between levelling which is fine by me but you simply have to make it more interesting during this time!
Yet The Witcher 3 The Wild Hunt only has two weapons and yet it is scoring so high across the board its truly staggeringly shocking!
I was expecting a score lower than Dragon Age and even that score was lower then I thought it would be, well in PC Gamer's review anyway. Cannot remember but it was around 82 to 85% when I had wagered it would be around 92 to 95. Before I played enough of it that is!
I thought that the third Witcher game would score around 78 to 85% and yet it has turned out higher than Dragon Age Inquisition and with one score a staggering 97 or 97.5 I saw somewhere?
DAMN IT!!
I had swore I would not buy this game! Now something I was ignoring had my damned attention once again!
Then I saw that not only did you get a physical package but this was a bloody box with a manual, map, stickers and other stuff?!
Err ... guess what is installing?! LMAO!
So guess what most of the videos I post on my ever growing YouTube account are going to be on?!
I needed a time filler before my ... main event to do with corruption hits the fans and the headlines and I am busy and off doing other things! No Star Citizen yet so The Witcher III the Wild Hunt will simply have to do for the next 8 or 9 days! Lol.
Guess what this post is intended to do? Umm ... well ... time filler until The Witcher 3 has installed and patched itself up which according to the time left to install has now gone from 90 minutes to ... err ... 12 minutes?! Umm it said that 5 minutes ago! Oh dear!
Oh 11 minutes, lol, ... umm ... {twiddling fingers and finger drumming while thinking of something witty to type} 'My mother in law ...'. No I cannot do mother in law jokes as I never had one! Oh wait? That was a .mother in law joke' about not actually having one!
Hmm ten minutes?
Well time to post this up and then go and put the kettle on.

DYING LIGHT ZOMBIE SLAUGHTER
To explain this here would go on too long and it is covered .. on my corruption blog.
To cut a long story short I am on the fourth day of the final five days of a long court case I have known the end dates of since Easter Sunday.
This has been dragging on over two years closer to three.
I knew from day one it was ... massive. The defendant, lets say my 'friend', has been transformed from accused to accuser and in a big way. This involves four large public services, corruption and a cover up of the worst kind and front page national tabloid subjects in each case and then some.
So in a limbo then.
I had thought about getting a new game title to fill in the gaps, as the weather has taken a turn for the worst too.
Oops, got held up by a phone-call about more corruption. A lot closer to home this time.
No, so I was wondering what to do to fritter away the time for about a week and I considered getting Elite Dangerous. After all my joystick is gathering up dust and what a sad state of affairs the PC gaming world is when you cannot find a title to use a joystick with? Lol.
Before long the same will be said about my Logitech G27 Racing Wheel! Well unless either Project Cars comes out and is good or that Need For Speed title I was reading about and cannot remember its subtitle name.
Now I kept hearing and reading some very good things about Dying Light.
Now I had initially disliked Dead Island Riptide and stopped playing it for a fair old while before returning to it to look at why I found it so hard. Before long I realised that the standard First Person Shooters had evolved somewhat and way beyond that I last played like the Dooms, Quakes, Return to Castle Wolfensteins and Fears. A hell of a lot!
Suddenly the terms I was reading about 'survival horrors' started to make sense and I started getting the hang of things. I had no idea about the weapon creation aspect of these games and was killed every five minutes trying to run around the place to discover where the guns all were! Lol! Of course those that know these games would realise that my ranges for discovering guns grew bigger and bigger and so dying became more and more frequent.
Before long I realised that using swords and baseball bats were not only the way to go and what you had to do but were a lot more fun too! I had never seen melee combat with a non-projectile weapon done as well as this before! If that was not more than enough to astound me imagine the smile on my face when I got my first long staff (love Wing Chun) and then when I got my first Katana?!
Hilarious laughing ensued and I could not wait to run around the next corner into a sea of zombies!
Then I modded the hell out of several Katanas.
Then it was over.
After playing Skyrim for months on end I was disappointed at how quickly Riptide ended and the size of the maps. 'Imagine that combat system in the next Elder Scrolls?!' was a thought I regularly repeated in my head.
Now being as Dying Light was ... well Dying Light and not Dead Island 2 I was not sure if it would be the same system and in fact did not even read references to Katanas for a fair old while.
Also with this Parkour movement, or free running as its more commonly known as, I was not sure would be done that well. Often new ideas on paper do not translate well to the finished article and not just in gaming either.
So I would often peruse the Steam store and read through some gamers reviews and one thing eventually stood out a mile. You had to hit the 'add more reviews' button under Dying Light several times and still all the reviews were glowing. I was going to say find a negative review but I cannot recall if I found one.
Raves about the bigger maps were aplenty, though now I realise they are way bigger than Riptide but still behind the biggest titles like Skyrim, Fallout and Dragon Age Inquisition.
So I took the plunge and bought it through Steam.
This was also a bit annoying as I am someone who is tactile and I like to have a hard copy and a case sitting on my shelf, even just to pick it up in a few years time and smile over the memories, lol. But a check of Amazon and my local Game store resulted in no hard copies other than the 'Be the Zombie Edition'. Umm...no thanks, lol.
Anyway the game is great, though not perfect.
Annoying trying to climb onto a ridge to get away from a pack of zombies that looks like a hundred others I have been up and unable to and then dying.
Also there was a point when the game, literally, changed dramatically without warning and suddenly I was being ambushed by large groups of the super fast zombies who can dodge your swings. Resulting in dying repeatedly.
Parts of maps are confusing on how to get to some quest points that appeared as if I had to work my way through a sea of zombies in a tunnel to get to it only to get confused on the other side and ... well die repeatedly. I gave up on that three task mission because there seem to be no way to get to it and ... well towns or cities are just not that confusing, especially on foot!
Oh and then there are the on hit kills...something happens suddenly and without any sound your hit from behind by something and your dead. Not even a chance to turn around and see what it was. One hit kills like that are infuriating.
Also the one other thing is the zombies when they grab you...there is a tiny window of your reach, and I am talking about longer reach weapons here, and then being close enough to grab you meaning you have to stab a key other than the three your fingers are on. Stabbing in the dark. Lol. This is obviously one of those console cross over things I wish to god they would leave with the consoles.
Still, once I find a Katana that will cease to be a problem, lol.
Other than those few everything else works very well. Graphics are noticeably better than Riptide but not quite as good as I thought they would be.
Now I did do an earlier video which recorded for a fair old while before I realised the counter had stopped. I then could not find said video and forgot to record any others until last night.
So here are a couple of videos of my in a gas station looking for Bus batteries and dispatching zombies and I think there is a section at night where I wait for morning to get to a supply drop ...
Oh yeah and those ... bloody annoying supply drops. Things are so hectic you fail to notice when they are dropped most of the time. You get half way there taking damage only to see they have been stolen.
Added to this I waited it out at night because one landed nearby.
I got to the building it was on and was the only one there and was walking around the base of the building, turned out to have a quest inside it where you wipeout the zombies, and while figuring out how to get up there that damned message came up 'Airdrop Stolen'?!
Oh? By, WHO?! WILLOW THE WHISP?!
Suddenly my brain now ignores the airdrops because your not racing against the thugs to get to them your racing against an imaginary timer you cannot see. This was not implemented very well.
Techland have continued to improve on their games and even Gunslinger was good, just way too short. But before they reach heights of titles like Dragon Age Inquisition, Skyrim, Fallout and Deus Ex they have to be a bit more focused in implementing some of their ideas.
Maybe the next one may reach gaming nirvana but that focus for me is now on the news that Deus Ex Mankind Divided, follow up to Human Revolution, is on its way. Also I have a funny feeling that in just 6 weeks time we are going to find out that Fallout 4 is also on its way. With this and the possibility that Dead Island 2 has the possibility to exceed Dying Light, only a possibility mind and not one I think it will do but hope it does, it truly is a very good time to be a gamer. Finally we may see that initial Tsunami of next generation games on the titles we have all been waiting for?
However with Techland and Dying Light the sound is one area they need absolutely no help with. Moody, spooky and with a John Carpenter like sound that makes you feel like you in a classic zombie film just like Riptide.

THE NUMPTIES OF THE WORLD
Well would you Adam and Eve it?
I posted about a title I bought called Ghost Recon Phantoms a few days back? Well due to a lingering illness, and my Fibrofog yesterday where I left the house without it, I still have not returned the offending item to the Game Store.
Last night, a few hours before I had my illness, don't ask as I don't know, returned like an F5 Tornado I ended up trying to download the game again. That was around... hmm 10pm and this time around it seems to have downloaded it.... IN PART!
Yes it is around 75% done after 14 hours. I have downloaded games twice that size in an hour. I should really add on a good day? Lol. But even a game twice the size of Phantoms would not take half this long on a bad day. That is my point and it is not finished yet.
The reason why I decided to have another go is because it seems, read 'seems', that people are split down the middle over this title? Some, sounding rather like me on a frustrating, painful and pissed off day, rage about it being a 'Pay To Win' game from an AAA publisher. Others that defend it state you do not have to pay to win at all one individual stating an impressively high level without 'paying a penny'.
Do you know what I thought? "Point one way to find out who is right and whether these fans are just a huge pile of steaming fanboys I start as much as pay2win. Because it's thoughtless and mindless driven who have no concept of what sport is about. A bit like the murderer who complained that a Brazilian athlete that beat him complained his... 'blades' were better than his! This is a man who wanted to be accepted into the races with people without these 'blades'?! Who managed to convince a massive judge that having three bullets lodged your dead girlfriend from your gun in a flecking toilet is an accident.
A little tip here as I cover this in depth on my corruption blog, if you use two different tools one will always be better than the other. However using a tool that replaces half your legs at a fraction, literally, of the weight with far greater flexibility is the actual comparison that is not fair!
Another example of a man that I knew had some very serious personality issues right here at the London Olympics. I was barely coming to terms with the fact that this bladerunner was going to be there, let alone want to compete with normal athletes and complain about tools used by a Brazilian rival. I did not even watch the damned Olympics, though I did secretly help thousands of people who attended. A fact they are musky none the wiser of to this day. Another blog, Man!
What?! I never said it was Oscar Pestorius! Oops! Lol.
Anyway, I digress to try and make lighter of a miscarriage of justice that took place on a global stage. Yup he still has idiots as supporters! The mind boggles!
Which brings me nearly around to this Pay To Win fiasco. Sorry but it's stupid, naive, shows nothing but contempt for your consumers and waltz around like they can rip you off and there is no comeback?! Well yes that's why I call fanboys idiots. I wound simply as at which point do they decide to draw the line? If I ask ten thousand people I wound get ten thousand different answers. In other words it is not fair.
Or to put this another way, I do not want to run around in a game I have ploughed £10 into only to be beaten marginally by a ten year old whose parents ploughed four times or more the amount in that I did! It's FUCKING stupid! THE END!
If you walk into a store and buy an Massive Multi Player Online game or just any online game you all pay the same money and start on an equal footing, or near as. Imagine getting into a game two years late when others have ploughed hundreds into theirs? Well I suggest buying a closing device if you have one on offer as short of immediately ploughing in a couple hundred nicker in one go your gonna spend the day getting annoyed at being canon fodder.
There are also a number of other issues like this I shall briefly explain before I point out a little BBC news report I linked to on another site. YES the corruption one! Lol.
This attitude started out, as far as I can tell, on mobile phone apps. Gotten away with by targeting their incessant greed at the new wave of ever younger kids acquiring mobile phones no doubt? I complained to others about this and simply stunned that they wound attempt this. Granted those earlier ones were not of the Electronic Arts of this world but it was bound to catch on. I know who are firmly to blame for this, take your pick from the only two candidates of Apple and Google. I also realised that surely they were so brazen about this it was only a matter of time before this infection affected the biggest and best loved titles? Not content with a monthly subscription fee you have to pay over the top to purchase the game and now post for guns that wound not surprise me of some cost more than the real McCoy?!
However an online game is a different animal to a sticker player game for the most part. I like the idea of co-op but what worries me is that your launched into a game populated with 8 year olds boasting everything in sight rather randomly? Then I saw pictures of Elder Scrolls Online! Lol. Oooh dear. Then there are the maps and a large open world could be tricky, unless of course your World Of Warcraft. But then that's a bit long in the tooth graphics wise these days and we are in the verge of the next, next, next generation and if you have seen Star Citizen then on PC it is more next, next, next, next generation! So enjoyable gaming online will come down at least in part to map design. Except even when I was last into gaming, until very recently, was when Half Life 2 was released, YES the first time and Quake and Doom befite that, it was obvious everyone wanted to go multi player. Quake 3 Arena being the first big name multi player title out. I hated that. But even then I did not stop to think... how many games can you have pulling this off?
You can only reasonably have a couple of titles of FPS's, RPG's, Car Racing titles and everyone else will have a tough time breaking into this elite group. That is creativity gone out the window then? Lol?!
Cannot help but think that this is the reason some old forgotten names are back into have creation too?
Funny then that after being out of pc gaming for a fair few years that this new... direction... bad direction is going a bit awry? Also amusing is how Electronic Arts,.... umm and the other ones lol have all bit wanted to hand over publishing rights to Valve and their Steam idea, an idea I did not like then and still do not like today. But I do not dislike it as much as I did. Because no matter what anyone says and my fellow students from my computer science degree will testify to us that they were shocked that in a split debate I was in the camp in favour of tangible things! This is because of the existence of fans, not fanboys who are the same but lacking in intelligence, resort to name calling after initially provoking an argument ergo the original trolls. True fans of literature, music, films and games want something they can... feel! I like Pink Floyd and Radiohead among others books on various sciences (not novels unfortunately as the are many I would love to read) and now RPG's like Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Kingdoms of Amulur, Mass Effect, Borderlands and others and will likely get added to? No way would I rather pay, especially as it is often more, for a digital download only. I have a hard back to copy on an optical disc and hopefully with some nice booklets and a map?
See?
I have been at this post for a while now. Dare I wonder whether Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Phantoms finally ceases to be a.... ghost? Phantom? Sorry you can all groan now. Do I dare wonder if I will manage to start the game and live longer than sixty seconds before setting a picture of my grey matter on a nearby wall before collapsing realising it is not some ruffian graffiti artist?! Lol.
I may. For a little while. Before I wonder if it is safe to move without creating an almighty mess before reaching the computer?

THE DIGITAL MINEFIELD
Sorry!
A few distractions lately.
Still to acquire things fur the new PC Gaming and Working RIG. DAMN IT!! Just remembered I mean to get a CD from Sainsburys, music that is, to see how fast I can concert music into FLAC files.
Anyway tonight I thought I would have a look at what games I missed I might want to buy, give me a little ... variety when I am stuck indoors or forcing myself to stay indoors.
Now it's a nightmare I find and I have to admit.
Now I have ended up taking some long pregnant pauses from gaming and so much so I had someone be very sarcastic over a video I put on YouTube about building my RIG purely because I was unfamiliar with micro atx and mini atx boards by the tiny picture I had to go on,_or failed to realise out of a bunch of letters and numbers that the 'M' stood for one of the smaller boards?! Stupid idiot!
"Obviously a newcomer to gaming" he starred with sarcasm. Yup never played things like FEAR, CALL OF DUTY 1 & 2, THIEF DEADLY SHADOWS? Ooh I an bit being fair! I should go further back to Shadow of the Beast (loads of know it alls all thinking 'what's that? That's not a game?!') in unison?! Lol!
How about Strike Eagle 2?
The list goes on and this is kind of the problem I have now! For instance today I was holding Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare while in my local game store. I had nearly ordered it online and now wondered whether to buying it again? But I could not shake the feeling that it was an old title and not what I built my rig for. Looking at the recommended specifications needed confirmed what I suspected with the highly recommended cards being several generations back! Annoying as I could have played this on my 5450 Radeon laptop! Has not realised it was quite that old.
But I am in a game store and holding it in my hands?! There are two mitre recent versions and one about to be released called Advanced Warfare! Only the later two get panned by players!
There in lies another problem!
Added to this is the fact that a game with older graphics can be highly playable but I am all for graphics power and photo realism, always was! But saying this it's no good if all it dues it look pretty and had no substance, gameplay, memorable moments or pant soiling moments!
Don't get me started on Minecraft!
Also and yet another thing I have noticed is that reviewers have been either getting things completely wrong ... a lot or even state something completely opposite to what players end up stating?! This is happening a lot ... a hell of a lot! With everything!!!
As an example I saw a magazine Menton that Google have a new Android version out in a few weeks called simply "L"?! What the feck? They said it will use less battery power and added to be a lot more stable and have less 'issues'?! What the fecking fuck?!?!
Everyone went Jellybean and KitKat crazy when these two came out and they are a big pile of steaming manure and anyone older then ten I would tell to avoid them like the plague, especially if you want to type a lot! Like I am doing now and KitKat cannot manage a single short sentence without a dozen mistakes!
Your paying book money prices for these fecking magazines too!
EDIT:
I completely forgot! One thing of note on this site if the title of Titanfall. This was mentioned everywhere and by all the magazines and they tend to do this. Then there was the merchandise of Titanfall keyboards, headset, mice and likely jockstraps?! Sorry I hate that and it's all so obvious to screw kids out of money and whip up a frenzy.
Only it does the opposite with me and I start to wonder what gives? Titanfall here on this site states a score of 86, thus was what the game seem to receive at abouts! So I ask imagine my raised eyebrow and how the hell is it that the players gave it 60?!
Like another blog I have where O often state what I am about to here ... it is absolutely stunning at how out of hand all this has got. I thought Titanfall had also not king been out and yet it had dropped by about £10 in price in Game?!
Now I already have one computing magazine I used to assure from launch being very wrong and stupidly obvious and must be doing over ask the free Intel chips and boards in their offices and seem to have become completely cut off from the very title of their magazine in more ways than one?!
There are mobile magazines that have received while seemingly having multiple orgasms each time a version of iOS or more importantly Android comes out only to then later two you the next one will fix the problems?!
Childish and amateurish is what it is with such wanton and obvious bias that word 'perks' along with either 'major' or 'many' spring to mind! Now many love to go into a rage of one degree or another about certain chip manufacturers stating one thing and the chips doing another?
Are you for real?! What about the magazines, man! These fuses are supposed to tell us their shit, not sing songs around the campfire about their shit while tripping over piles of the crap?!?!
I is not only so obviously biased but they also have no idea whatsoever about new technology. In fact anyone can do what they do ... play the shit for 5 minutes and then regurgitate and reword crap off the web. Possibly is already handed to them?
One magazine I famously pan on here are not a computer gaming magazine anymore, thigh they insinuate that they are. Because what they champion is nothing short of ridiculous and fuck all to do with gaming. I said it before and said it again! Also what the champion is way overkill but is mainstream in the magazine!
Sorry but you are Custom PC Magazine not Fastest PCs On The Planet Magazine! You need to go back to school on the technology front because you have kind of list your way, deliberately or otherwise!
The first two years of this magazine I never missed a single copy but the last three years I have not purchased a single copy!
While they come out with the same crap and talk to the readers like idiots I will go elsewhere than you very much. I can think of better ways to spend £6.00, or whatever it is, like buy a house?! Lmao!
End Edit.
So I kind of liked this following site as it had the usual scoring of games asking with user scores and you can see some big difference ...

MSI A88XM GAMING SERIES MOTHERBOARD
This one involves the wrongly ordered Mini ATX motherboard of the MSI A88XM, yessss that is what the M stands for nitwit!, Gaming Series Motherboard. Once I realised I emailed Scan (Scan.co.uk) who very kindly rang me up stating it will still fit in the ATX case to which I then said 'oh well leave it as it is then!
Here is me showing it to viewers on my Youtube account where I will go through every section of the building process. This is admittedly a simple build so if its boring parts then do not watch it, lol. Though on some I think are too boring, like later when I post up the Akasa card reader and adaptor fitting, I will ramble on about stuff that was ongoing simultaneously involving other blogs!
In this way I hope to raise a few eyebrows of those that were totally unaware as well as using one video to feed two separate blogs?!
I am not German but I am efficient .. at times, lol.
As stated the computer is up and running! But it is not finished just yet and there are currently over twenty videos involving it and I have two parts turning up in the next few days. One major part to be posted later is the Corsair Vengeance K70 Keyboard and another one just a four pin fan splitter cable as my motherboard is missing a couple of ports! Lol!
I am very selective and thorough in my research of all things and not just tech and as stated I still have a few things to go, a Blu-Ray writer and a Mouse in two weeks time. I know what I am getting already and ... all in good time, lol. After all I do not know it may change? Some of that I did get were changes to earlier ones I decided on, though this was decided upon so that I could get the rig up and running two weeks earlier than I originally planned!
A miracle achieved as my daughter rang me twice in need which cost me £50 while doing this! Bad timing, not her fault as she did not know, lol.
Of course I have to acquire two normal hard disks to supplement the SSD Drive, a mirrored array to ensure no loss of data, I am using and likely another SSD Drive either equal to the 256GB Drive I have or 512GB?
Now I normally make a beeline for Western Digital with hard disks, though I have used Seagate and others. Though my system currently seems to make no sound ... oooh wait let me switch of my little fan I have on ... umm, there is a sound but it is very low and I cannot even work out if it is the PC or not?! Though granted I have nothing on and also I am not gaming right now and nor am I overclocked or have a separate card installed yet for dual graphics ... ooohh I forgot about that! Yes a second card will be bought in about a months time for dual graphics, lol.
But then it should be remembered that at the last minute I opted out of a Coolermaster, or was it Corsair?, Hydro 80 thigamajig (techie speak lol) closed water cooler at the last minute! This would allow me to get the rig running and added to this I was not sure about overclocking while using dual graphics?! So when I do whether it is an OC'd card that I then raise the APU up to match or have to do both then I will use the water-cooling idea. Possibly I may head up the scale higher to something else like the Alphacool stuff?! Umm I think it was Alphacool?! Lol!
Yes so I got a special offer at Scan (.co.uk) for the Coolermaster Hype TX3 CPU cooling fan and decided on that at the last minute which was around £16 after VAT was added. Anything is better than the included cooler, lol.
There may well be a couple of other things that have slipped my, FIBROFOG, mind? Afterwards I am thinking of expanding into pod-casts but if I do this I want to do it with the utmost professionalism and using some unique things about my personality to boot!
Sometimes, like this time, the sections or jobs that I do end up in two parts and partly because I leave in the rookie mistakes I should be making because I am normally hard and critical of myself with a few jokes or names, though I never remember, lol. Sometimes because the damn memory runs out as I keep forgetting this is 1080p video here! Sometimes because it is just long and I try and break it up if I realise that is and do not get carried away with what I am doing?
:p

STEAM OS IS MORE VAPOUR
Oh dear.
I had become quite excited by the fact that Half Life and Steam creators Valve announced they were working on Steam Operating System based on Linux.
For too long people have created Linux OS's that do not come up to expectations. After a long pause without using it myself I kept hearing a great deal about Ubuntu and decided to give it a go.
However after a nightmare few weeks I discovered that the very thing a Linux OS had going for it, speed and stability, was now terrible. The thing it missed previously, a good graphical user interface, was now quite good?!
The other thing is that of proprietary drivers. The one thing an OS simply MUST DO is work. If you enjoy the fact that it dies not work immediately and have to tinker for days then your missing the whole point of the very idea and term of operating system. Basically because it is not operating making many look somewhat foolish.
When this involves a standard and necessary piece of hardware whereby there are only TWO companies, though it could be argued there are three, this is even worse! No is and buts but ridiculous. Linus users may love the idea it is a novelty but the fact is that anyone who creates a Linux OS dearly wants it to go mainstream. The End! When you have installed it into an already outdated laptop and the drivers do not work it is not really an OS, as you are not able to operate the system. In fact it was quite the opposite and my laptop over heated and shut down several times and I never even had games installed?! Good know how much extra per it sucked from the wall socket and I dread to think.
At a time when Microsoft have screwed up three out of for operating systems an opportunity appeared to pass the Linux bridge by. But then Valve, who must have spotted this, announced Steam OS.
Unfortunately though and from what I read in the report below I think Valve will not do as well as they think that they will? As some guys got to mess around with a beta version of Steam they discovered many things that have had me scratching my head...
1 Users seem to be locked out of many things, including repositories that are not Valve's...uh-oh!
2 It looks and feels exactly like the Stream client on Windows or other Linux machine...uh-oh!
3 To get to something resembling a desktop you had to alter something in settings...uh-oh!
They may have been one or two other things but the first thing I thought was oh dear it is that cash cow creation thing going on again. This is the one thing users do not like and many Linux stalwarts in particular. I asked a Linux guy once why he died not like posting for software and he simply said "so you can spend more on faster hardware" though I can understand this it is not really workable. They sound like socialists of the computer world?
Yes OK Microsoft, and Apple, are extremely greedy and much of their software is expensive. Though with Apple it is the hardware. But I do not think it sensible to expect to pay nothing for something that could take a few years to create for a team of people.
Well you could if the software was boosted with advertising. Oddly enough I saw the Amazon Kindle tested by a woman who inspects hotels and she went mad at the adverts that kept popping up. Yup would drive me batty too. Turns out you had to pay them a fee of £10 to have them removed. I did not like the sound of Tesco tablets nor Argos Tablets for the same reason and that the OS on these devices have Bern created by them. Even if things start of great you have no way of knowing if this will suddenly go downhill with an update? My guess would be YES!
Case in point, my faulty and used Motorola Atrix suddenly showed down after around 18 months and now runs slower than the Motorola Defy I owned before hand. But the Atrix is dual core 1Ghz while the Defy was single core and 800Mhz?!
Added to this I have even reinstalled the Operating System several times to cure it's various ills to no effect whatsoever. Yet when someone hands me their new phone and this applies to cheap single core entry level phones to they go so fast they make my Defy look like it is going backwards in time.
I really DO NOT like updates. They drive you bloody nuts to be updated for no real visually noticeable improvement and seemingly every five minutes. Before long you do notice changes as the software starts paying up or refused to work altogether.
That leaves me with such a bad taste in my mouth I want to vomit repeatedly!!! Why? Because this behaviour is no different to that of pick-pockets stealing things from you in the street.
At least pickpockets have done excuse or other at times, like they are starving or drug addicts!! Not because a few million in a few years is not good enough or not fast enough.
Yes a very bad taste.
So Valve appears on first impressions to be going down that street of shame but I cannot say I am surprised. I never did like the Steam client and thought it would not work. Several years to early.
Let us hope things improve but after reading this, albeit early report, I salt very much doubt it.
Maybe the price of twinkies have gone up?

SKYRIM TEAM MOVE ON TO BIGGEST PROJECT YET?!
Will be even more exciting if I can build that rig I though I would start building 8 weeks back, still better late than never, as long ias it is not TOO LATE, LOL.
Now I am not sure about how things are done at Bethesda and I am not sure of this means that they are now working on an Elder Scrolls VI or a Fallout 4?!
I get the feeling they have two teams one for each series but I could be wring and I have not had time to reasearch many things, and therefore make money, becase the UK government or SERCO, take your pic, are taking up much of my time with the reasn behind it that I do not work.
What do you call all these blogs then you arse-wipes & piss-ants, lol.
Still in-between wondering whether I will sort this out and if not whether I will be homeless first or starve to death, I do find periods to be excited even if I cannot do the research I need to do, lol.
I did have this theory that there would be a flurry of activity on games that will increase once the word was out that we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel on the Playstation 4 and XBox 720?! Indeed it may well be that this activity has been ongoing for awhile now and that they could not let that out of the bag as people may guess it was for the next generation consoles?!
I do sometimes wonder whether we should read words like 'are' and replace them with 'have' or 'have long since now', lol.
THIEF RETURNS!!!
http://www.pcgamer.com/previews/thief-first-look-preview/
Ooooh BOY!!!
Now it has been awhile and I am telling myself not to get too excited.
Also I do not know if it is the same team or now and I have not read the magazine, well due to some financial constraints, upcoming hospital tests and6 other Hospital departments appointments and different areas of the government now trying extremely hard to stop me doing my corruption blog and reaching these appointments by nbow attemptng t make me homeless and cancel my benefits spending on anything has become out of the question temporarily.
Also a certain big company do not seem to be paying me when they were supposed to which was 3 months ago and the numbers are all falsified.
Yes so I am up against it all for the moment but I can still feel excitement about the return of Thief, lmao.
But I might have to wait until I have moved out of my cave or forest and have the funds to build a new Gaming RIG before I have the chance to play it?!
Never a dull moment now the yanks are running things?! LOL. Or should I say the WRONG YANKS?!

UBUNTU & AMD RADEON WORKING IN HARMONY
I have the AMD Radeon Graphics Driver INSTALLED and IN USE for the first time ever in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS?!
It seems that I decided to do one last thing because everything got into a bit of a mess partition wise and I decided to wipe the whole laptop put it back to just ONE partition and install Ubuntu onto it alone!
Against my better judgement but knowing I can get it up and running very quickly and easily I attempted to install the AMD Radeon Drivers and, HEY PRESTO, it worked!!
There was something I noted that was different with this install and that is that without me downloading anything at all there were about 5 different choices for AMD Graphics drivers where there were only TWO beforehand and do not know what that was all about. This laptop does have two graphics chips in it so that might be something to do with it.
Oh how weird?!
I just noticed that the fan is not on and the laptop is stone cold?! Well you know what I am going to say next?! I simply have to!!
How COOL is that?!
LMAO! Groan!
Seriously though that IS weird. I am not sure I have ever had it this quiet and this cool before and am rather surprised the screen is lit up and I am typing?!
Anyway so there seems to be a serious issue with the graphics drivers for Ubuntu if you dual boot with Windows 7 using the same hard drive, despite partitioning and certainly on a
HP Pavilion DV7 Laptop
AMD Phenom X3 1.8GHz
Radeon HD5470M & HD4200 Graphics
8GB RAM
Toshiba 320GB Hard Drive (having second added soon)
17 Inch monitor 1600x900
Ohh I can download STEAM now?! LOL!
Hmm I just remembered I was IN THE STORE where I bought this laptop, PC World's store, and a guy was looking at a HP Pavilion lappie and as I passed I said "Don't!" and the guy looked at me as if I was mad and I walked back up to him and said "no I mean it...DON'T!" and has asked why I said that.
I told him that before my one which I bought out the same store had been back in for TWO repairs, several letters had rubbed of, 'a' 's' 'n' 'l', the hard drive failed, the case came apart and they were supposed to fix it and it is STILL coming apart?!
His eyes went wide and he said "are you SERIOUS?!" and I replied, yes.
Right next to the Pavilion was a HP Envy, albeit a little one I had never seen. I said that the Envy would be OK as the keys are not printed and it is their top of the line range.
Oddly enough I never had any problems with my old Pavilion DV5000 and I had that for 7 years and sold it to a friend who is STILL using it?! Yes OK I did have to change the keyboard for a new one but that was because of missing keys that came off due to its age!!
Now I would NEVER buy anything with the PAVILION name on it and I now realise why they were going to gove up PC manufacturing as they were making stuff like crap! I love it when companies do this and then throw their toys out the pram because people will not put up with it?!
well if I was anyone else I would be kicking up more of a stink but luckily for HP I know where all the keys on a keyboard are. I DO look down but I do not know why as I know where they are and have now deliberately stared at the screen for the last 30 seconds!! Hoho....OOOPS!
God I am not going to have to buy ANOTHER bloody Sony product am I before long? Well if the blogging and other online activities pay off I would like to be able to work online while out and about and even on holiday or abroad?!
This being a 17 inch laptop it is too much really. I will get a 15 inch in future provided I have two desktop machines first of course. If I am out and about and need a bigger monitor there is always the HDMI port I can use on a TV wherever it is I am staying.
Then there is the question of what to do with this one...I would probably donate it or give it to someone.
Annoyingly I will probably be wasting my money then soon when I buy another dive to place inside this machine so I can get Windows 7 back on?!
The obvious thig to do now would be to build a gaming PC but not feasable for awhile and not sure how long before it is feasable. But with Ubuntu on here and working it would be the sensible course until I build a Small Form Form Factor Ubuntu Rig. Building another Ubuntu RIG now would just be a waste of time and money. The gaming RIG is too expensive! So the only sensible option is to get Windows back on here, lol.
Yes STUPID I know!!

VAMPYRISM IN SKYRIM
Sorry to all you magazines and online reviewers but your way, WAY wrong in your scoring on Elder Scrolls V Skyrim and I am really unhappy to have to say this.
Right very early on in the game I accidentally consumed umm something that gradually turned me into a vampire. REALLY EARLY ON!! Now not realising what a problem for me this would be and just how annoying it would make the game nor that I had to cure it I went on.
When the annoying dizzying started and the blood boiling in sunlight I attempted to find out something about it on the Internet and found a site called Gamefront. There is a whole page on curing Vampyrism and the amount of people going mental and some who have cured it being very sarcastic towards others that are complaining.
Well those having a go at others and insulting them by stating they cannot read I think you will find it is YOU that cannot read! Read on...
So I was afflicted by this Vampyrism purely because the keys had altered from Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion... now WHY THE FECK WOULD YOU DO THAT?!
So the options are...
1) Consume the Cure for All Diseases
DONE AND DID NOT WORK
2) Find an alter and pray at it!
DONE AND DID NOT WORK!
3) Travel to Mortar and speak to Inn Keeper who tells you to speak to Falion, has to be done in THAT order, buy a black soul gem, fill it with a soul (FECK ME ALREADY!!), return to Falion and arrange to meet him at this location at dawn. Make sure you are not a starved vampire and when he arrives after a fecking annoying wait it tells you to speak to him. You speak to him and ... NOTHING!!!
I think that part of the game code, probably where the micro stutter crept in, were fecking intoxicated that day and stoned?!?!
After travelling half the damn map and killing two dragons and having a third bugger off just as I was about to dispatch his arse to the four winds he buggers off nowhere to be seen. I am gathering shouts but had no idea until I noticed three were greyed out that I needed to capture DRAGON SOULS...cheers fellas!!!
After eventually capturing a sould using a soul trap spell I ditch Lydia, quite accidentally, in errr that place in the freezing cold and a large expansive college and end up back in Morthal.
I arrange to meet Falion and wait around for bloody ages only when he turns up I speak to him and the three ususal options appear and ... NOTHING! He turns up to meet you and stands there like an lemon?!
Thinking I must be looking too vampire like I go back to another saved game, this is four or five evenings now of attempting to cure Vampirism, shit dudes I could have completed Half Life 2 BLOODY TWICE in that time maybe three times?! I go and feed, ewww, and go back and meet Falion and he still turns up and stands there like an idiot. GROAN.
So I go back to said saved game only this time I suck off half the town of Molthar!! Two seprate couples, though oddly the wife of one couple, Thunnar's wife, will not allow me to feed or pickpocket either. Still I have fed over two dozen times and I thought surely now this will work?!
No, Falion still arrives and stands there like a god damn IDIOT!!! Why even turn up? WHY TELL YOU that he will cure you, then turn up at the circle and then just stand around like a brainless moron?
I then remembered reading somewhere that you had to attack Falion a few times and then he submits and performs the ritual?! Oh yeah well that worked out well and the only thing I discovered form this is that despite having him down and out several times you cannot kill him!!
I used every single weapon and every single posion along with going through all thee types of health potions I had 3 or more of each. Every single destruction magic spell and then some.
Just remebered that PRIOR to attacking him I had thought that maybe I needed to be naked, like I discovered you had to be to get in people's houses without them waking up when you need to feed. So cast off all clothing jewellery and weapons once Falion turned up but still nothing?!
I led him towards some crabs too and then saved his arse several times and take a guess to how that went?!
I only ended up trying to slay him as I got so enraged at hearing his bloody voice and that was how I discovered that even when he is cowering at your feet that blows from single handed nor two handed swords do a dman thing to him?!
I started to think this was some kind of gaming coders joke on gamers?
I mean how and why would it be that hard to reverse something you did not want to become anyway? I have played the game for two weeks now and spent 90% of the time as this damned Vampire! It has runied the enjoyment of the game for me and I am sick to death of it if I am honest.
Looking down the forums, especially the one in Gamefront, I am not the only one and the chat forum is really lengthy with others complaining of the same thing. In fact I am astounded at the people that managed to cure it and even more so that they speak to others like they are idiots because they cannot.
So after perusing the forums again looking for a console cheat to rid myself of this fecking annoying thing, I hate the whole Vampire thing anyway and did not even realise they were in Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion, and think its all bloody, pardon the pun, teenage fashion crap in all honesty what started with Buffy and made worse by the Twilight films that they seem to be included to add appeal to teenage obsessives?!
http://www.gamefront.com/skyrim-how-to-cure-vampirism/
In all honesty everything I read about Skyrim was amazing and even the first week os evenings playing it were amazing. But it ended up on a slippery slope that seemed to just increase its inclination the longer I played the game.
I had already been salivating over Elder Scrolls VI and hope its subtitled 'DO NOT WORRY THE VAMPIRES ARE BANISHED' otherwise I think I will wait and see what people say about it. This Vampire business really IS that shit in all honesty and I will have to try a console cheat as the only other option is start for the beginning.
If I do the first thing I am going to do in Skyrim is find the biggest baddest weapon available and then travel to Morthal to see Falion, but I WILL NOT BE SPEAKING TO HIM THAT IS FOR SURE!!!
This coming from a gamer who when breaking into someoes home to feed on their blood will not steal or pickpocket them while there as I think I am doing them an injustice as it as if they become a vampire as a result of my feeding on them I am consigning them to a fate worse than DEATH ITSELF!!
Now I am off to walk into the open jaws of a bloody big dragon to put myself out of my never ending misery that is Skyrim?!
LMAO!!
EDIT:
Well it seems it was a fault with coding after all!!!
Go the the centre of the Ritual Circle...
...get the console command line up by pressing ` or the key to the left of one on my keyboard then type in...
prid 0001aa5e ... then press RETURN followed by...
moveto player ... then press return...
Then press escape to go back to the game...
FALION reappears (oh OK SPAWNS) next to you in the circle and starts the damned ritual!
DONE!!
God really bad coding that was and if there is an update to PATCH this glitch then I am afraid to say it is a prime example that after all this time STEAM is till crap!!

CRYSIS MAXIMUM EDITION
£9.99 is what I bought it for at Game.
Very cool this and only likely to be let down by ending far too quickly...
Problem is though it does make playing it over again less attractive than say the Bethesda Games...but I AM likely to play it again though! LOL!!
Hmm I do have the two expansion discs though?!?! :)
That box is very chunky! Would be cool if Elder Scrolls came in a box like that as they are such huge games and deserve attention to detail...
...sorry I am a very tangible person when it comes to things I love and I do love Elder Scrolls as I do books and do not want everything to be purely in digital form. This would be such a bad thing I think but then I do not think it would happen with books anyway, I just hope it does not happen with games!!

MOBILE GAMING WITH ELDER SCROLLS V SKYRIM VIDEOS
MOBILE GAMING: ... ELDER SCROLLS V SKYRIM!!!
...for those that thought it was CRYSIS...sorry that was a deliberate Red Herring and the only reason, other than curiosity, why I purchased the Maximum Edition from my local Game store?!
I saw it and thought...now would it not be funny if I bought this and played it and threw this in 'the ring' to throw everyone off?!?!
I bloody love Skyrim and yes the graphics ARE turned down but yes it is running on a triple core AMD Phenom X3 1.8GHz CPU, that is 1.8 Gighertz, with a ATI Radeon HD5470M, yes that is MOBILE GRAPHICS, on a HP Pavilion DV7 Laptop I bought ex-demo, but actually refurbished, that I read over and over again on the internet I would NOT, I repeat NOT, be able to play any of the latest games on...
...so never even bought a game at all in way over 6 months. Well I bought the laptop in January 2011 and it is now February 2013 and you can see when I started doing these posts on gaming.
Even with the first Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion running and Fallout 3 running I still never thought I would be able to get Skyrim and Fallout New Vegas to run, especially as DiRT 3 runs so bloody badly?!?!
But it seems that the team behind the Elder Scrolls have either rebuilt the engine they used and opitimized it to impressive standards or optimized the current engine, from Fallout or which ever one, and OPTIMIZED their code which is even MORE impressive.
The MASTERS that CODE should take notes!!
Now some Elder Scrolls V Skyrim VIDEOS...
