TEGRA NOTE 7 TO HP

As I stated previously in my reviews of the tablet I now own I have a link from the Tetra Zone that announces what appears to be my tablet but badged by HP, Hewlett Packard.

I do not know how this works from now on, or in other words do EVGA continue making it for HP or do they now own the licence for the design and manufacture it at HP now?

I will try to find this out as I am interested to know the answer. I am also interested to see if they will announce larger versions? The was talk of a larger one appearing but I have not searched any more regarding these facts.

I will though be covering a number of things from January 2014 onwards as after a terribly long wait I will be in a position to do those I had hoped to last year.

The jury is still out on some of these things and January 2014 will reveal some much anticipated information that I will make those decisions upon. A number of facts will come to light during the first two months that will alter many things that I will do and achieve.

Several of these things will be to do with this blog but a few are too do with my health and some check ups, tests and ultrasounds that have been requested I had not foreseen. Plus there is the matter of a referral to Guy's Hospital's Fibromyalgia Department.

These things wool all set a precedent that will continue without 2014 that will ensure that many more subjects, items and gadgets will be covered.

STEAM OS IS MORE VAPOUR

Oh dear.

I had become quite excited by the fact that Half Life and Steam creators Valve announced they were working on Steam Operating System based on Linux.

For too long people have created Linux OS's that do not come up to expectations. After a long pause without using it myself I kept hearing a great deal about Ubuntu and decided to give it a go.

However after a nightmare few weeks I discovered that the very thing a Linux OS had going for it, speed and stability, was now terrible. The thing it missed previously, a good graphical user interface, was now quite good?!

The other thing is that of  proprietary drivers. The one thing an OS simply MUST DO is work. If you enjoy the fact that it dies not work immediately and have to tinker for days then your missing the whole point of the very idea and term of operating system. Basically because it is not operating making many look somewhat foolish.

When this involves a standard and necessary piece of hardware whereby there are only TWO companies, though it could be argued there are three, this is even worse! No is and buts but ridiculous. Linus users may love the idea it is a novelty but the fact is that anyone who creates a Linux OS dearly wants it to go mainstream. The End! When you have installed it into an already outdated laptop and the drivers do not work it is not really an OS, as you are not able to operate the system. In fact it was quite the opposite and my laptop over heated and shut down several times and I never even had games installed?! Good know how much extra per it sucked from the wall socket and I dread to think.

At a time when Microsoft have screwed up three out of for operating systems an opportunity appeared to pass the Linux bridge by. But then Valve, who must have spotted this, announced Steam OS.

Unfortunately though and from what I read in the report below I think Valve will not do as well as they think that they will? As some guys got to mess around with a beta version of Steam they discovered many things that have had me scratching my head...

1 Users seem to be locked out of many things, including repositories that are not Valve's...uh-oh!

2 It looks and feels exactly like the Stream client on Windows or other Linux machine...uh-oh!

3 To get to something resembling a desktop you had to alter something in settings...uh-oh!

They may have been one or two other things but the first thing I thought was oh dear it is that cash cow creation thing going on again. This is the one thing users do not like and many Linux stalwarts in particular. I asked a Linux guy once why he died not like posting for software and he simply said "so you can spend more on faster hardware" though I can understand this it is not really workable. They sound like socialists of the computer world?

Yes OK Microsoft, and Apple, are extremely greedy and much of their software is expensive. Though with Apple it is the hardware. But I do not think it sensible to expect to pay nothing for something that could take a few years to create for a team of people.

Well you could if the software was boosted with advertising. Oddly enough I saw the Amazon Kindle tested by a woman who inspects hotels and she went mad at the adverts that kept popping up. Yup would drive me batty too. Turns out you had to pay them a fee of £10 to have them removed. I did not like the sound of Tesco tablets nor Argos Tablets for the same reason and that the OS on these devices have Bern created by them. Even if things start of great you have no way of knowing if this will suddenly go downhill with an update? My guess would be YES!

Case in point, my faulty and used Motorola Atrix suddenly showed down after around 18 months and now runs slower than the Motorola Defy I owned before hand. But the Atrix is dual core 1Ghz while the Defy was single core and 800Mhz?!

Added to this I have even reinstalled the Operating System several times to cure it's various ills to no effect whatsoever. Yet when someone hands me their new phone and this applies to cheap single core entry level phones to they go so fast they make my Defy look like it is going backwards in time.

I really DO NOT like updates. They drive you bloody nuts to be updated for no real visually noticeable  improvement and seemingly every five minutes. Before long you do notice changes as the software starts paying up or refused to work altogether.

That leaves me with such a bad taste in my mouth I want to vomit repeatedly!!! Why? Because this behaviour is no different to that of pick-pockets stealing things from you in the street.

At least pickpockets have done excuse or other at times, like they are starving or drug addicts!! Not because a few million in a few years is not good enough or not fast enough.

Yes a very bad taste.

So Valve appears on first impressions to be going down that street of shame but I cannot say I am surprised. I never did like the Steam client and thought it would not work. Several years to early.

Let us hope things improve but after  reading this, albeit early report, I salt very much doubt it.

Maybe the price of twinkies have gone up?

ADVENT TEGRA NOTE 7 INCH TABLET REVIEW

I have a new tool for my trades.

It also doubles up as a new toy, love it when I but things that can truly multi-task!

Now this is a 7 inch tablet computer and how I came about getting it as well as how I found it is both weird and very lucky.

Make no mistake when I state this but this is one hell of a tablet for the money and though some have been put off with it for just one thing, it IS just one thing. Some have stated this is ugly but I think them morons and I think that the Apple iPads are bland and boring both the design and the graphical user interface. The iPad Mini being the only exception but still has the iOS GUI which has not changed one bit and not capable of having a decent desktop screen nor widgets.

As for it being ugly it looks like a giant HTC One in black which everyone loves the look of so there you go. But I will add that the body is not metal but plastic but it is a deep solid plastic. To get this point across I new it was plastic and one idiot reviewer stated that the tablet was "flimsy" and yet when I got it out of its box I had to look closely at the materials as it felt solid with a nice weight. Took a few seconds before I had decided that the speakers on the edges were indeed covered in plastic!

SO yes the speakers face you and there is also a BASS speaker on one side, many thought a microphone. Indeed I even removed an app that was downloaded automatically as I thought it had no microphone but indeed it does!

Now for the bit that some complain about, but only some, and that is the screen resolution of somewhere around 1280x800 so obviously not a 1080p screen. But here I have a 7 inch screen that is a higher resolution as the last TV I watched which was a 720p screen and listed as 'HD'. So it is higher than the normal HD and oddly higher than the XBox 360's resolution and more bizarrely higher than the XBONE, oops sorry my bad X-Box ONE lol.

DO I notice this? NO! The screen is perfectly fine and it is an IPS panel to boot. Yet you could argue that it could be a little sharper but at the price it cannot be faulted.

The CPUs inside is the latest nVidia Tegra 4 which is a quad +1 processor. I do not know if the plus one is a co-processor, GPU ot whether or not that does not include a GPU, if their is one, and it therefore has 6?! LMAO!

Now I nearly missed this unit and I had visited my local PC World store several times and it has never been on display! This is not only strange but gets stranger when I tell you that is is badged under their own label of ADVENT! But do not despair as it is ADVENT in name only. The tablet was designed by nVidia because many companies decided against there newest processor and opted for the latest quad core Snap Dragon processor. SO thay approached EVGA and as PC builders will be aware they build Graphics Cards for PCs and a highly reagrded brand they are due to some fine graphics cards produced. In fact in some countries this unit has the EVGA brand printed on it instead of Advent.

To give it its full name, well here in the UK at any rate, it is the Advent Tegra Note 7 and it has another surprise when I explain it has a rather nifty stylus! Yes a stylus and this is NOT chunky like most stylus you get but extremely fine, though the other end as another thicker bit of rubber. This stylus also will not work on other screens either and was created by nVidia. It is held in place by magnetism and does not come out easily at all. Also on removal of the stylus the unit senses this and gives you a pop up menu to run one of two apps both designed to make use of it. These are 'Draw' and 'Write'. The tablet is also pressure sensitive so you co do fine lnes or thicker lines but just applying more pressure. The nibs are also wedged shape so you can have a greater degree of control over the thickness. It works well too and is very responsive and this alone had me sold!

It came with Android 4.1, I think it is, or Jellybean but it immediately updated to 4.2.2 after I switched it on indoors. There is also an nVidia app that shows you games and programs that are specifically designed for their Tegra chips and clicking on one takes you to the program within Google's app store. Other than those last three programs there is nothing else or no bloatware or skins by the tablet manufacturers so kept clean and simple. I did read that this tablet will receive the KitKat update reported to be faster and more streamlined which will vastly increase the already vast longevity of this tablet. All in all very cool.

It comes with 16GB or memory and also houses a Micro SD Card slot for expansion which is the only thing that puts me off devices. Not including this is purely to get you to pay out for another machine in 6 months to 12 months in my opinion and leaves a bad taste in my mouth with the manufacturers and whoever it is that may or may not force this upon the manufacturers. Because these days and for sometime now 16GB and even 32GB is not enought for some. Two years ago an Apple owning ex friend of mine was complaining because he wanted one that had 128GB and was hoping that the iPhone 5 had that. I laughed and said these companies know people want higher memory and they wont do it for at least several models yet. Maybe you might get that on the iPhone 6 or even 7 but not on any of the fith models.

I think the same about upgrades to Operating Systems and apps. That is why they do not like the modding community because once you have paid between 200 and 1000 quid out you want it to last but now they have your dosh they want you to upgrade as soon as they can get you to do it.

Odd how this is never covered in the magazines? Lol.

I used Real Racing 3 on the tablet and it looked very bizarre to see this on a large screen. I have been plaing it on a rotten Apple iPhone 4S and in all honesty it is very small. I do not thnk the fifth version goes quite big enough in all honesty and neither does iOS 7 do much of anything. They have been left behind for years and only the look and design of the latest 5S is a positive thing as regards this phone. Oh the finger print scanner is good too. But the less said about the gaudy horrible 5C the better, lol. They must have been on mind altering drugs to think that people would pay that money for that horrid phone?! Only fifty quid cheaper?! Even at £100 cheaper I would rather stump of the exra £100 and get the 5S, if I was mad enough to pay £800 foir a phone! I would much rather buy the Nexus 5 not long out because at around £300 it is less than half the price! Even if it has no Micro SD Card slot!

So what was the price of this 5 core Tegra 4 7 inch tablet?

£180!! Yup you read that right it s one hundred and eighty quid that is ahead of everythihg else in all but the screen! In benchmarks it was three times more powerful than many other devices, you will need to look it up but I may download a benchmark and film a run through of one.

Also there is a games controller like that on the games consoles but specifically designed fot this tablet!

Oh yes it has wifi up to 'n' and Bluetooth 4.0, yes indeedy!

Very, VEY slender but solid stylus. Does NOT come out easily either and ridges there for you to get your fingernail in to pull out. Not difficult to remove but you will realise it is not falling out, EVER! Lol.

AMD KAVERI & THE ONSLUGHT OF TROLLS AND FANBOYS

Been awhile since I posted on here, sorry about that. Had several things going on.

Today I was looking around to see if there had been any engineering samples of the next generation APU in the form of AMD's Kaveri, due for release on January 14th 2014.

I am quite interested to see the benefits of the HSA and HUMA. Despite really wanting to see and buy an 8 core Steamroller in an FX guise at 28nm I am trying to convince myself into the APU side based on something that many fail to realise, see next paragraph. That is that despite the AMD Kaveri having only four cores and no mention of a 6 or 8 core processor that in future that GPU side of the chip can also provide processing duties. So I am telling myself that with new software, who cares about how old software is coded anyway, the coding will take advantage of the GPU side when it comes to anything else other than games?! In effect this would make the GPU side faster than the CPU side and I say that regarding all cores, not just AMD's cores.

So technically half would be four cores and the other of a possibly higher grade, be it slightly faster than the four cores of more equal to an added 6 cores? AT the end of the day it is the benchmarks that count but ONLY if they are coded for this. Until such a time when this occurs no one can say nothing. Only this has not stopped many opening themselves up for a huge amount of crriticsm in the coming months.

This link below has an article regarding AMD's Kaveru being photographed in Engineering Sample form. But that is all it is and far more interesting are the comments at the bottom whereby trolls and fanboys get into such fistycuffs that even the nicknames used are intended to poke fun. Unfortunately the degrading aspect of the CPU as well as the GPU wars is both low, imooral and childish. Rather remeniscent of the Apple versus Samsung debarcle?

Now I see it thus...many people, whether employees, sccerpting gifts or just idiot fanboys, are becoming scared that it just may be that AMD might be on the up and up with this next APU and sounds like they are scared. The mere fact that these new generation APUs are the heart of the consoles and that there must be a good reason for this seems to be striking fear into the hearts of Intel fans, and there is one in particular I can think of. It seems there closer to getting ot right AMD get the louder and more confontational these people become.

I hate the fanboy flame war thing I really do. It is for this basis that I rarely entertain forums and someone even suggested me starting forums for the twelve subjects I cover but not interested dealing with people who refuse to budge no matter what when they either quite obviously wrong are throw around their beliefs as if they are proven fact without them being based on any data of any kind.

Now I for one had thought that precisely a year ago I could start thinking about building a new rig, computer, which would start early in 2013. Due to unforeseen circumstance, mostly covered on other blogs I have, this did not occur. Part of the reason is that I did not quite achieve many of my goals nor input as much as I thought I would into my blogs, thereby not quite garnering enough visitors to achive things in record times. Added to this there was an issue with the blogs and they were inundated with far too many adverts which I had not realised were there. SOme had around ten on or more when the total allowed for certain ads is three. Bizarrely it turned out that my pop up blocker was actualy hiding the blocks containing the ads in my set up layount screen. So I kept adding ads to ones already there which just krept upwards over many months. This did two things...

1. Firstly it stopped my revenue from Google in  its tracks and it refused to budge for the last four months and had likely been slowing down for a couple of months before that too.
2. Secondly it was putting people off returning to all my blogs as they looked an absolute mess and it is annoying that I had not realised this and has cost me. Not helped by the fact that Google refuse to even speak to you until you reach the minimum payments of £60 per month.
3. Meaning that I should have reached that months ago but did not due to a problem that was primarily Google's they refused to speak to me about.

So now that this has been discovered it has also been corrected... 

1. But this will take a little while for the people that were put off by the inundation of ads to realise and come back more often that they were.
2. The revenue which already leapt forward in a 24 hour period proving what I have said to be correct will move ever higher over the nect couple of months as new visitors come back more often and visitors I have had over the last 6 months also come back more often
3. Based in that last detail being correct then at the time of the launch of the AMD Kaveri chip I may be able to buy my first purchases to FINALLY build a budget PC, which I will of course film which will help promote my blogs as well as my YouTube account, lol.
4. It was always a long term plan that would take one or two years to get everything neatly networked together to work as a whole and achieve what I wanted. Yes I was wrongly cocky and over confident that I could do this in less than a year but it mattered not I was in this for the long haul no matter what.
5. Also remember I knew not that you could generate revenue from blogs when I started, I only wanted to help people and just doing what many said I should have done for the last ten years!

I had hinted of this before but I did not really want to put any details in unless I was sure and I only had that sudden LEAP in the first 24 hours of one set of figures. But I really needed a minimum of a month and more realistically TWO MONTHS to be absolutely sure. At this point, around the launch of AMD Kaveri on the 14th January 2014 strangely enough, I might able to make predictions on my blogs with an absolute certainty. Once it starts ot does not stop and just heads upwards.

One other subject I am into is exotic animals and plants belong mostly to the Reptiles, Amphibians, Fish and Orchid areas and have acquired slowly some tools and now only need materials to start making custom design cages that have been knocking around in my head for over a decade. SO attempting to do some manufacturing and get nbetter and better at it to sell some here and there, a back up plan.

Of course and as I have long staed my plans were so multi-faceted that it would put the best diamonds to shame! Here alone I have described, technically, just six of a much larger numbers of goals set out to achieve. Each of the corrupt organizations being another list, helping people and groups of people is another list and so on and so forth.

Now hopefully I can discover in the coming weeks that the AMD Kaveri chip is pretty decent, especially for the price tag, and can purchase the one being called the AMD A10-7850K or here rumours of a faster one to come a little later with a slight wait. If this is tha case I can 'drop in' a AMD trinity or Richland into an FM2+, or whatever the latest motherboard is, until the quicker chip is released?!

Oh yes I forgot I need to keep an eye on the Steam Operating System too to see if that pans out? Hope it does as Windows 7 is the only OS from Microsoft worth having in my opinion. Likely might be the last one worth having which is not good so the Steam OS which is Linux based could work out to be fantastic with any luck. Unlike a particular Linus OS called Ubuntu, lol.

A QUANTUM LEAP IN COMPUTING

Oh this is exciting, very exiting indeed and a real surprise.

I had my doubts that quantum computing would get very far and around used had to me at extremely low temperatures a few hundred below zero.

But now out had been achieved at 25 degrees?!

Quantum computing might not found like much but nothing could be further from the truth!

Now to start with we are talking about single atoms here! The tiny switches inside a CPU measure around 25 around across, give or take a few soon widths. Also that is if my memory serves me correctly which it sometimes does not.

Secondly not only are single around way, way smaller than current transistors but the quantum physics might sound tricky but put simply an atom can represent three values  in other words not just 0 and 1! So think add a two to this. Now take the fastest chip available and shrink it to a 20th of its size while making it 50% more powerful per clock cycle. That is 1 hertz if the Gigahertz the procedure works at. This brings me nearly onto this speed, or frequency as this is likely to be far higher than the current 3 to 5 GHz?!

Now the weird bit of ask this is on how out achieves this. Each atom can spin in one direction, the opposite direction and were it gets a but weird...both st the sane time. These are known as juxtapositions.

Think that is about as simple as I can explain it but in truth even the leading scientists knowledge will only extend so far. The rest if theory they are trying to establish as fact.

When will you have one stating at you from atop your desk? Well I might have said ten to fifteen years a year our two ago. But with this news report I might hope that five to ten years with my fingers firmly crossed!

Let us hope its not an Intel made CPU as its likely to cost 3 to 5 grand. If it is AMD likely to cost 3 to 5 hundred, lol. Likely to be a whole new company I would imagine.

BIT-TECH AT IT AGAIN

LMAO!!

Well here is Bit-Tech of Custom PC Magazine fame, which I stopped liking when they became extremely biased a few years back.

For the first time in bloody ages they mention AMD and a CPU and yet they get their facts wrong?! I guess that is what happenes when you obviously have gobne out of your way to ignore their products?! Lol.

No Bit-Tech, Steamroller is NOT AMD's current core in use, that would be Piliedriver you planks.

Also revealed are details of what the highest-spec chip will be. Kaveri will have up to 4 CPU cores (2 modules) that will be based on the company's existing CPU architecture, Steamroller. It will also feature a GPU composed of 8 GCN 1.1 Compute Units (CUs), making for a Stream Processor (SP) count of 512, or the equivalent of a Radeon HD 7750 desktop card.

What I find rather hilarious about this report is that they have consistently stated that AMD chips are utter pants! So this report strongly insinuates that this new chip will be pants too?!

AMD CONFERENCE KAVERI NEWS

Well I have been waiting for the new generation of AMD APUs and CPUs, if there are any of the latter, based on the Steamroller Cores and HUMA design.

We are very close now to a launch and there are very differing rumours floating about none of which really matter due to it now being weeks away at most. Some state that shipment is already ongoing while others state it starts in December.

I have been waiting for the AMD Developer's Conference as a number of announcements were due to be made with the date flying about the Internet being the 11th November 2013 for all the announcements and that we will find out all on this date. Then I realized that the conference was actually over THREE DAYS, 11th to the 13th November, and thought 'well there we go yet again with people making statements as if they were fact when they are not'.

It is currently 18.43 so the evening of the 12th November 2013 and there is very little about other than a few announcements that have emerged from the conference.

"Specifically, desktop availability will take place on January 14, executives said at AMD’s APU13 conferences on Monday. Chips for notebooks, servers, and embedded systems will follow later in the year", executives said.

Another thing being reported on some sites is that on January 14th 2014 the 'DESKTOP, version of AMD APU with steamroller cores codenamed Kaveri will be launched with laptops and notebooks being launched later in the year?!

Sorry but this is a little off sounding to me. AMD APUs normally get launched in laptops FIRST and desktops LATER! Should this happen the other way around it will be the first time I am aware of that this was done that way around.

Also my local PC World/Currys Megastore has spent a few days VERY recently changing all their displays and shunting many laptops off onto older shelving and left a load of spaces. The new stands have a mahogany like look about them and look rather dapper. Fancy in other words, lol.

It drives me insane when I walk by and I hear the sales people trying to sell a laptop or notebook with an Intel Core i3 in it and I feel like walking over and saying "don't, just don't!", lmao.

There are also some mad claims about the Internet too and some have been lambasted for them. But I do find it annoying when someone claims that there will be a 30 or 40 percent increase in performance and armchair experts claim that this is not possible!! Grr, you cannot say that! Not likely would be more accurate but there are so many things being implemented in this chip that you cannot say that. Unless you know more than the designers do of course, lol.

Put basically there is a new core for starters and this time has a floating point unit to itself for the first time. It is on a smaller lithography, which may help it run cooler and clock higher. Then there is the HUMA aspect of the chip. No one really knows anything about these combined things but quick to come online and state what it will or wont do, lol.

As for the many core versions of 6 or 8 I have read nothing. Yes there are many stating that there will not be any more, FX Chips, but I don't know. It would seem strange to have a 4 core then 6 then move up to 8 and then back to 4 again. PLus because of all the hype before release previously and if I was AMD I would not want to repeat that. I would keep any CPU only chips under wraps until just before launch. Though this would be a liuttle unfair to those who bought AM3+ motherboards hoping to upgrade to Steamroller.

Me personally maybe think there will be a 6 core Steamroller FX. What I would like to see is a 6 core APU!! Now if they did this with a higher number or graphics cores than the 4 cores then I think that would be one nice chip. Unless of course Steamroller ends up slower than Piledriver which I very much doubt, lol. Besides all this there is also Valve's Steam OS. BE interesting to see what gets announced with that, now that they know that the consoles have gone AMD APU. Maybe a STEAM OS PC will ran like the proverbial Gazelle?! Here is hoping!

APPLE RELEASES BANANA

Well this is a very odd find!

Even stranger than an iPhone bent like a Banana is the fact that this reporting of the iPhone 5S having this issue, straight out the box do you mind, but was also reported on it's predecessor?!

That is weird!

It is also hilarious in a way as several companies have been beavering away to create a curved screen phone! Lol. Maybe Apple did this deliberately to show that they could?! Though I don't relish that guys job! You know the one with a pile of iPhone 5s and a hair-dryer?!

BITTEN BY THE ROTTEN APPLE

Oops...

After thinking that the feature set of the new iPhone 5S was actually quite respectable and beginning to get an interest in finding out more about it, as I have been playing about with an iPhone 4S for a couple of weeks now, today I was bought down to Earth.

SO THEN these guys claim that this M7 Processor Apple claim is inside the iPhone 5S & C does not exist and is a lie. Also they mentioned the M7 CO-Processor, I was not previously aware of them mentioning is one, is ALSO MISSING?!

If this turns out to be true then for me it just about sums up in a nutshell just how distant, aloof and evil these companies have become to that of the rest of the human race?!

EVER LONGER DESTINATIONS

A little like these blogs I am currently attempting to get home but the destination appears to be getting ever further away!

After leaving a friends place not far from me my severely aching groin to which the ultrasound was lied about by the NHS, covered previously, suddenly become joined by another!

After about one hundred yards of medium limping a flash of pain along the outside of my left foot has reduced me to a very slow and painful pace.

It is these times when my normal limping increases due to a combination of physical pains that I become worried.

Among all my goals in life many have been hampered for the past dozen years by being deliberately lied to, refused diagnosis, given a whole list of wrong diagnosis openly ridiculed by the next Doctor or specialist to then give me yet another wrong diagnosis and so it continues on and on.

Only every now and then I am reminded that I am a hairs width away from complete immobility.

Despite all the organisations out there no one cares, no one understands and there is absolutely nothing in the way of help!

It is an eye widening thought of how there is such little humanity within Britain today and it only gets worse. All the time and for over four years they have attempted to chip away at me and therefore others in far greater difficulties than me!

Commuting anywhere busy in the UK I am sure is a nightmare and cannot be anywhere as bad as London?! Quite how anyone in my condition or worse is supposed to navigate a transport system that is way out of date, over loaded and damn right unreliable is a mystery only they are aware of the unrealistic answers to?!

Yet they still want to stand behind you with one empty hand and one wielding the proverbial whip and expect disabled like me or worse to snap our fingers and make the impossible, possible.

Odd that this would come from politicians who talk big but cannot make the simplest things possible!

For those of you wanting to get into photography I would steer well clear of Argos and this goes double for those of you wanting to get into it for the first time!

The last thing you want is a bad experience with a new hobby and with Argos I have had three of them in a row.

Now these involved two Nikon cameras and one Olympus and yet despite my recording of events and proving that they are indeed refurbished cameras being sold via an'AUTHORIZED DEALER' these facts have FAILED to illicit the CORRECT response from either Nikon or Olympus.

I should add that this also seems to spread further afield than just Argos and I have also seen it with the mail order catalogues of Very & Littlewoods as well as B&Q!

Now Nikon have NO SEALS on their boxes and do not place any seals on the boxes.

Plus Argos can and DO put their own QUALITY CONTROL STICKER on their boxes as....WELL NIKON ARE OBVIOUSLY SHIT AT MAKING CAMERA. Joke as I might there might be something to that?!

But there is also a 'VOID STICKER' that has appeared on....lets say more than one box and that both Argos and Nikon UK swear to all that is holy that it is THE OTHER that is responsible for this sticker?!?!

Two possibilities arise from this and that is either ONE of them is lying....OR THEY BOTH ARE?!

Incidentally the cameras were all very faulty and ALL out of the box but one I did not really notice until something ELSE went wrong after a coupe of months and then the THIRD camera highlighted problems NOT NOTED with the SECOND?!

Yes confusing I know but that is how it was ad a nightmare for me and I have lost thousands of photos and photo opportunities and it has cost me money on top of this too.

Now this started in February 2013 and even today which is the 16th August 2013 I am about to exchange the current camera for my FOURTH CAMERA but this one will be a straight swap for an identical camera which is the first time I have done this!

A THIRD FAULTY REFURBISHED CAMERA FROM ARGOS

I would advise all comers to stay away from Argos when it comes to purchasing electronic goods!

After now getting a camera I wanted form day one and it being just as good as I had hoped it also turned out to first have marks on the lens, then I noticed a seal on the box that both Argos and Nikon swear is nothing to do with them?!?!


The lens wiped clean, by my eyes anyway and as for the sticker proving I had now had two refurbished Nikons I was past caring and just right now while typing I realised Nikon UK lied to me in thise earlier emails.

That VOID sticker has now only been present on THEIR boxes and was NOT present on the Olympus box?! But then this would not surprise me as after several emails from Nikon about the L810 Coolpix I suddenly realised that Nikon were NOT overly concerned about the fact that I was sold a refurbished product by an supposed authorised dealer?!

In my very last email I put that to them and their very last email to me was along the lines of 'oh well....I ho0e you get it sorted out!' and never heard from them again. Lol.

This time around I have realised that the Olympus was either faulty or crap or both because I am really and very genuinely disappointed that this Nikon P520 IS faulty as I bloody love it and the pictures and 1080i movies are great.

Then had time to do a video ... or the other way around I cannot remember lol

HOLY OPTICAL DISCS BATMAN!

Well I was waiting for this one?!

I was kind of hoping that in the wake of 4K televisions, 2160p compared to 1080p, that a technology vastly improving on upscaling technology would arrive.

However though I've not tested our owned the best DVD upscaling players I never write could her my head around them working particularly well. But I could be wrong and was hoping to be proved wrong with players coming out that upscale?

This is kind of worrying as it seems they want to find a way to seek you those films you paid to see, then bought on VHS tape with a string of restrictions and then the same again on DVD, BLU-RAY and now someone else.

Let us hope it sites not repeat what Blu-Ray did, lol.

HARDWARE JOURNALISTS BALONEY

It was funny and I have spoken of this before several times but I used to worship CustomPC Magazine!

Not anymore as they have become one sided and biased and suddenly do not look too sure that they know what they are talking about or reporting on. As I have touched upon before they have also, like that JML character, lambasted AMD and it's CPUs and the company or its products hardly get a mention or recommendation.

Well ONE does and has done regularly for awhile now and that would be one of the AMD APUs with the integrated GPU.

Now what I am about to tell you that I read in the magazine I could not quite believe I was reading it and my initial thoughts were 'You bloody idiots!'

It seems they felt obliged to make comments about AMD and because of the fact that despite them being a PC enthusiast magazine and talking up Intel CPUs for many, many months now they may feel a little embarrassed that the three big companies of Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo all disagreed with them and all voted to use upcoming, UPCOMING, AMD APUs for their games machines.

But what got my attention and I have retained in my memory since I saw it is the sentence they included that stated how under-powered these machines will be and that many people have far more power in their PCs already?!

I simply could NOT believe that they stated this line and then went to print with it?! I should really go and view the article on their site and see if they are being lambasted for printing it?

Reasons being that, and I have covered before hand, these machines are going to be having games far more graphics intensive than their previous machines. END OF! They are not going to release machines less powerful then the previous one, the same power or even slightly more powerful as they will NOT sell in this climate and that is the end of it. Simple as in other words.

Now they obviously have learnt and know something about the chip they are using that we are simply not privy to as yet and this much should be glaringly obvious. Also this new chip will be 8 cores but as I understand it only one graphics unit. I have repeatedly spoken about this and I seem to be the only one that finds this arrangement extremely odd. I stated that I thought as there were going to be no less that 8, EIGHT, of these AMD Jaguar Cores that there must be TWO GPU chips too. Unless it is a custom made chip that will just house the 8 CPU Jaguar Cores and just ONE GPU.

But there was one other aspect of these new console chips that I had not considered or likely not aware of at the time and that is this heterogeneous memory access that will be included in the new chips. This allows both halves of the APU to access the same memory. SO in theory then we can imagine that some of the Jaguar cores can then take on elements of a game and produce what the software needs immediately with no lag or waiting?! This is rumoured to increase the speed of the APUs somewhat. Added to this we know little else about these CPU cores or the actual GPU cores that will be used or the levels of customisation that ill be included.

Yes everyone like to use big numbers to show at you with the word FLOPS but as many are increasingly finding this is losing its...lustre. Now for why and exactly why CustomPC Magazine should not have said that and have shown to be true what I noticed about them for quite sometime now and that they have obviously been given some incentive to champion Intel chips.

The problem they have is many fold and one of these is that it is very possible that come the launch, or even prior to launch, the new games to be showcasing the new machines may LOOK like the NEXT GENERATION of games. Simply because going by their statement in CustomPC Magazine ... well they simply will not?! Someone with a Geforce TITAN Graphics card will be playing games that look FAR BETTER than anything on the next generation consoles?! OOPS!

No what I have expected to happen all along is for everyone owning a PC Gaming rig who has paid out £400 to £950 for a graphics card as going to feel stupid and not to mention CHEATED?! After all someone will be able to build a PC around the time the consoles come out and get an all in one CPU and GPU that is very similar in performance to the consoles and the chip will cost around £100 or so?!

So just to make a glaringly obvious comparison here someone has recently set up a gaming PC with a Intel Core i7 with 6 CPU Cores and 2 extra they lasered off because they do not want you to have them yet and a Geforce Titan. For the Intel chip this is likely to be around £600 and maybe more for a chip they INTENTIONALLY crippled. You have also paid £800 for a graphics card that you now realise has been vastly underused and that all the games are just NOT programmed well enough on the PC. You have paid up to

£1,500 on just TWO items and minus anything else on a PC that will finish up being over £3,000 so that it plays games the programmers and companies could not be bothered to rewrite for your hardware?!

With AMD you can now build a next generation PC gaming rig for a little over a tenth of what you just paid out?! That plays the next generation games?!

To think that people actually buy these overpriced components and build these rigs and avoid AMD and see them as inferior and close to death. They all go on-line taking the absolute piss out of AMD and their chips but all thee of the big boys that dictate what games are played have now all chosen AMD?!

AMD did struggle and had some very unfair things stated about it and if it is struggling and was not selling chips we have to ask ourselves why this is? Well would that not be down to the one magazine dedicated to building PCs that only seem to think that their is ONE x86 CPU manufacturer in the world?

Now if this is the case and they have been DELIBERATELY IGNORING AMD as much as possible one HAS to wonder WHY this is?! Intel by any chance?!

Like much of my corruption blog it just seems to be a level on control and manipulation because a bunch of people believe the hype and falsifications that go on.

I would lave to have been in the building at AMD after sealing the contracts to actually supply the chips?! They must have all been grinning like Cheshire cats at all the people that were biased and/or bought off by Intel to avoid them. SO much so that now they feel they have to make statements of a U-Turn nature that STILL contain glaring errors?!

God knows what was in the rest of the report, I read that line, laughed out loud literally and put the magazine back on the shelf in Sainsburys. I then continued laughing as I walked away with a big grin on my face thinking that the second half of 2013 is going to be VERYYYY INTERSTINNNNG and in more ways than ONE?!

Hmm maybe that guy going round trashing AMD who goes by JML something or other is the secret owner of CustomPC or Bit-Tech or whoever is now in charge over there?!

THE TROLL HUNTERS

This made me smile.

Every now and then I get given a copy of the Daily Star because there is an article in it that would interest me. Sometimes it is to do with a Marvel Comics or DC Comics Movie and often it is to do with corruption in the UK.

Normally I forget to look in them which I should do as certain pieces can inspire me or drive me mad to write a post on here.

If there is one thing I hate it is idiots and I have posted about this before I do not mind trolls but there are really bad ones. In computer hardware forums many people get into discussions regarding the hardware and the two top topics are CPUs and GPUs. These would be the brain and the graphics chip respectively.

Now it seems like 90% of the forums I visit that have a snippet of information there is someone that goes around posting stuff to do with AMD. Normally some stupid prediction they are screwing up in one way or another along with the quote of 'DIE AMD, JUST DIE!'

The person is mad and not worth talking to or responding too at all. Some know him only too well and do not respond to him while others make the mistake of getting drawn in to a conversation. What follows is a throwing out of numbers and links to benchmarks. From the side of the TROLL you will get crap numbers among correct ones. After a while other forum members realise that he has been making glaring errors in hos quotes and pull him to piece and quote him. At this point you would think that anyone normal but just giving out BS would shy away embarrassed to hell. Not this guy and just like the Energizer Bunny he keeps on at it.

He is known under many guises but always with the same three letters and often with various numbers attached to his nickname. I dare so he goes under very different names too but his use of language and the way he thinks stands out a mile and I would likely spot him now regardless of names used.

The letters used are JML.

What amazes me is now that AMD have all three consoles tied up, now this is something I touched upon before, he still maintains that AMD are dead in the water and going out of business?!

Now it takes some kind of bloody idiot to still think that and not realise that big companies like Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo would go anywhere NEAR a company that they thought had a chance of folding inside of 5 to 7 years. Purely because this would result in a ceasing in production of the Playstation 4, the XBox ONE and the Nintendo WII U!!

It has been 7 years since the last generation first appeared so they need to be sure that they can produce these for the next 7 years until the NEXT GENERATION is ready to roll out the door.

I do not know why people do what these trolls do and this one I know is probably one of the main TROLLS complained about.

SO they are going to ban trolls on Twitter somehow and this is likely going to be the start of something, which I think is a good thing as long as they do not find a way of abusing it and ... well then go and abuse it.

Next 12 months should be quite interesting as far as unfolding is concerned as the Internet is getting a great deal of attention from the authorities and government in the UK at least. Well as my corruption blog has caused a whole list of stirs, was used in the House of Commons several times by Labour MPs to attack the government it would not surprise me to find out that they discovered me, discovered my widely popular blog and posting of evidence and scrambling around to implement a load on Internet Laws and Rules that would include something to shut me up?! LOL.

I find it truly amazing that I have complained for many years that the Internet should be controlled more as far as unspeakable and evil things going on and people that like to abuse and offend. They have ignored this for years and years and all of a sudden and inside of a year of my blog suddenly they are sitting up amd taking notice?!

Well how about laws and rules on COMPANIES and RETAILERS and other online services where they are in your face to con cash out of you but when it comes to contacting them you cannot find an email because it is either NOT THERE or buried under layers and layers of pages.

You see this is DELIBERATE and no different to you walking back to a High Street store with faulty goods, then seeing you coming and quickly turning of the lights, locking the doors and hiding under the counter?!?!

So let us see who gets hit with all these new rules and laws?! All the 'little' people which seems to me to be an ever growing list of people in the current economic climate!
